 We are inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Associate in the Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi from individuals who have or will soon receive a PhD in sociology, social psychology, computational social science, computer science, information science, data science, or a closely related field. The appointment will begin September 1, 2026, subject to final budget approval and is available for up to three years.

 The post-doctoral associate will spend half their time on independent research, and half their time on collaborative research with Professors Mario D. Molina, Minsu Park, and Blaine Robbins. The collaborative research will be large-scale analyses of digital traces (e.g., Yelp, Airbnb, Stack Exchange) and virtual lab experiments to study how ingroup favoritism and group boundaries coevolve in multiplex communities; how attribute- and opinion-based cues shape insider/outsider categorization, intergroup relations, and social cohesion; and how to design interventions that promote inclusivity, fairness, and productive discourse online.

 <br/>
 We seek a candidate with expertise in the following four areas: (1) working with large-scale digital trace data; (2) building and running natural language processing and machine learning workflows; (3) experimental design and causal inference (including virtual lab experiments); and/or (4) network or computational modeling. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in applying these tools to questions of group formation, intergroup relations, and the distribution of resources on online platforms. This is an excellent position for a computational social scientist or a computer/data scientist eager to transition into the social sciences.

 The position does not require teaching, but it may be possible to get teaching experience for compensation. You would join a group of over 20 post-doctoral fellows and 70 faculty in the Division of Social Science.

The Division offers five undergraduate majors as well as graduate programs. Faculty conduct world-class research that is both theoretically rigorous and globally engaged, with collaborations spanning every continent and close ties to policy and practice in the UAE and beyond. The Division&rsquo;s research strength is internationally recognized - Economics at NYUAD ranks 4th in Asia in Research Papers in Economics, and Political Science ranks 6th globally according to a recent study. Role Overview</b></p></div><div><div>
We are seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Assistant Professor in Finance to join our growing academic team at the University&rsquo;s Mumbai Enterprise Campus (MEC), a flagship transnational education initiative of the University of Bristol set to open its doors in 2026, coinciding with the University&rsquo;s 150th anniversary.</div></div><div></div><div><div><br>
The role will contribute to curriculum and research development, and strengthen the University&rsquo;s academic reputation through teaching, innovation, high-impact research, and external engagement. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high-quality teaching, lead independent research initiatives, and support the broader academic and administrative development of the department. The role will report to the Professor / Associate Professor and have dotted lines reporting and collaboration to a senior academic (Dean of Business School), in the Faculty of Arts, Law and Social Sciences (ALSS). This position offers a platform for career advancement, including the potential for progression to Associate Professor based on performance and institutional contribution.</div></div><div></div><div><div><b><br>

Play a role in curriculum development and contextualisation, programme accreditation, programme enhancement and the maintenance of quality assurance standards within the university.</div></li></ul></div><div><div><b>

Supervise student research projects, theses, and internships, providing academic guidance and mentoring.</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Build an excellent record of high-quality publications in reputable, peer-reviewed academic journals, or recognised discipline-specific outputs, actively contributing to the international discourse in Finance.</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Pursue research funding and build interdisciplinary collaborations across the university network.</div></li></ul></div><div><div><b>
Essential Criteria</b></div></div><div><ul><li><div>
A completed PhD inFinance or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution.</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Evidence of ability to teach to a very high standard at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
An emerging track record of high-quality scholarly research, with potential to publish in highly ranked journals.</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
