This position supports the coordination and execution of flagship fellowship programs-including McCarthy Fellows in San Francisco, Sacramento, and Washington, D.C.-and the USFVotes voter engagement initiative, which is nationally recognized through partnerships with the Students Learn Students Vote Coalition, Vote Everywhere, Andrew Goodman Foundation, and the National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement. These programs place USF students in policy internships with agencies, legislative offices, and advocacy organizations, and regularly interact with government officials, community leaders, and faculty. Additionally, this role will support youth serving programs at the McCarthy Center as needed.
 
The coordinator will take the lead on developing an outreach plan and materials; conduct recruitment, review of all public services programs, and support selection of students for each program; provide ongoing advising and guidance for students in the programs; liaise with collaborators and program stakeholders. The coordinator will support facilitation of assessment of program outcomes, ensuring fidelity to the shared vision and mission of the programs; and create systems and templates to sustain the programs into the future. They are responsible for implementing cross-campus visibility strategies, coordinating communications, and contributing to the delivery of professional development content. This role requires strong project management skills, relationship-building across diverse communities, and the ability to serve as a public representative of the Center. Program Coordination and Implementation (35%)

Work with stakeholders to plan and implement the programs and activities of USFVotes and public service programs including the McCarthy Fellows in San Francisco, Sacramento, and Washington, D.C.</li><li>
Support Director in designing curriculum, organizing and facilitating learning activities and conducting assessment which includes reflection-based learning activities and workshops.</li><li>

THE OPPORTUNITY
Staten Island Justice Center (SIJC) seeks to re-engineer the experience of criminal court in Staten Island, New York, by providing judges and attorneys meaningful alternatives to bail, fines, and jail sentences. Operating out of Richmond County Criminal Court along with community-based offices, SIJC is a team of social service providers, court-based resource coordinators, mental health practitioners, compliance specialists, and others who seek to improve the quality of justice. Supervised Release offers an alternative to jail by providing pretrial supervision, case management, and voluntary social services to people charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses, and in doing so, uses an arrest as a window of opportunity to change the direction of a participant&rsquo;s life, avoiding the harmful effects of incarceration. Program participants are monitored to ensure their appearance at court dates and mandatory programming, and receive referrals to services like job training, drug treatment, and mental health counseling.
SIJC seeks a Participant Engagement Specialist for the borough&rsquo;s Supervised Release Program (SRP) which provides supervision, case management, and social service connection to thousands of court-mandated participants each year. Reporting to the Clinical Intake Coordinator, the Participant Engagement Specialist will leverage interpersonal and data-management skills to support participants&rsquo; successful engagement with the program. The Participant Engagement Specialist will provide outreach to program participants who missed program orientation, intake, and those who have been disengaged for 30 days or more. Additionally, this role will effectively communicate and collaborate with intake, case management, and compliance teams to ensure accurate court reporting and continued program engagement.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:<ul><li>
Complete outreach to all disengaged participants mandated to SRP in Staten Island to re-engage them in the program;<ul><li>
Engage in weekly outreach efforts by phone and email to participants and their collateral contacts and defense attorneys to support program engagement;</li></ul></li><li>
Monitor all participants simultaneously assigned bail and SRP, collaborating with the clinical intake team as appropriate;</li><li>
Maintain accurate and timely data entry and case documentation aligned with the program model, court reporting obligations, and best practices;</li><li>
Collaborate with the Clinical Intake Coordinator and the intake, case management, and compliance teams to ensure outreach to all participants whose orientations or intakes are incomplete or who have been disengaged from the program for 30 days or more;</li><li>
Contribute to consistent and effective cross-team communication;<ul><li>

The LTSS Service Coordinator-Clinician working under the direction/supervision of an RN, with overall responsibility for the member's case, as required by applicable state law and contract, contributes to the LTSS care coordination process by performing activities within the scope of licensure including, for example, assisting the responsible RN with telephonic or face-to-face assessments for the identification, evaluation, coordination and management of member's needs, including physical health, behavioral health, social services and long term services and supports.
How you will make an impact:<ul><li>
Assists responsible RN in identifying members for high risk complications.</li><li>
Obtains clinical data as directed by the responsible RN.</li><li>
Assists the responsible RN in identifying members that would benefit from an alternative level of care or other waiver programs.</li><li>
Provides all information collected to the responsible RN, who verifies and interprets the information, conducts additional assessments, as necessary, and develops, monitors, evaluates, and revises the member's care plan to meet the member's needs.</li><li>
Participates in coordinating care for members with chronic illnesses, co-morbidities, and/or disabilities as directed by responsible RN, and in conjunction with the RN, member and the health care team, to ensure cost effective and efficient utilization of health benefits.</li><li>
Decision making skills will be based upon the current needs of the member and require an understanding of disease processes and terminology and the application of clinical guidelines but do not require nursing judgment.</li></ul>
Minimum Requirements:<ul><li>
 Requires an LSW, LCSW, or LMSW or license other than RN in accordance with applicable state law and Nursing Diploma or AS in Nursing or a related field and minimum of 2 years of experience in working with individuals with chronic illnesses, co-morbidities, and/or disabilities in a Service Coordinator or similar role; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.</li><li>
Current, unrestricted LSW, LCSW, LMSW or license other than RN (as allowed by state law) in applicable state(s) required.</li></ul>
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:<ul><li>
MA/MS in Health/Nursing preferred.</li><li>
May require state-specified certification based on state law and/or contract preferred.</li><li>
Travels to worksite and other locations as necessary preferred.</li></ul>
