</p>Responsibilities - What you&rsquo;ll do
<p>Employees hired in this title are considered hourly/temporary and are not eligible for any benefits.</p>
<p>The following tasks are the responsibility of the Social Services Aide/Community Mentor:</p>
<ul><li>Transport youth (and possibly family) to school, job, doctor appointments, meetings, etc. in a state vehicle.</li>
<li>Spend time with youth in developing constructive relationship, participating in recreational activities or otherwise helping to provide structure and guidance.
</li><li>Provides extra contact for youth in high risk cases.
</li><li>Monitoring clients during home visits from facility.
</li><li>Serves as an appropriate role model and support system.</li>
<li>Provide tutoring or academic assistance with schoolwork or homework.
</li><li>Assist client in securing employment.
</li><li>Assist supervisor in developing employment opportunities and/or community resources for youth/families.
</li><li>Contact service providers or community resources regarding behavior and attitude of client.</li>
<li>Meet with supervisor on a regular basis and report information regarding client to supervisor.</li>
<li>Maintain written log of client contact for documentation purposes.</li>
</ul>Qualifications - All you need for success
<p>A valid driver's license is the only requirement for a SSA. Prior experience working with juveniles or college course work in the social science or criminal justice field is desired.</p>

<p>The mission of the Bergen County&rsquo;s Alternatives to Domestic Violence (ADV) is to partner with individuals and groups to prevent and eliminate domestic violence, dating abuse, and other forms of intimate partner violence, through comprehensive service approaches that strategically address the multifaceted causes and effects of abuse in diverse communities, such as prevention education, crisis intervention, legal advocacy, evidence-based counseling programs, and coordinated community responses to violence.</p>
<p><b>Job Description:
</b></p><p>This employment opportunity is to serve as a Community Service Aide (Abuse Intervention Specialist) to facilitate court mandated group programming for individuals who have used abusive behaviors in intimate partner relationships. Under direction, will perform a variety of routine field and office work involved in community-oriented programs. This position delivers structured, evidence based psychoeducational programming focused on offender accountability, behavior change, and victim/survivor safety.</p>
<p><b>Job Responsibilities:

<p></p><p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p><br>

<li>Assist with the setup and breakdown of the distribution area, including tents, tables, pallets, chairs, and other assigned duties.</li>
<li>Transport pallets containing Senior Food Boxes from the warehouse to the outside distribution area (specific to El Centro).</li>
<li>Carry boxes weighing up to 35 pounds throughout the distribution process and place them in participants' vehicles and walk-in carts.</li>
<li>Return empty pallets to the warehouse once distribution is complete.</li>
<li>Provide assistance in directing traffic.</li>
<li>Ensure the distribution site is thoroughly cleaned after the event.</li>
<li>Perform tasks requiring lifting and/or standing under extreme outdoor temperatures during both summer and winter.</li>
<li>Assist EFDN+ staff as needed.
</li><li>Execute other duties as assigned.</li>
<li>Follow established program protocols.</li>
<li>Adhere to all agency policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Participate in departmental meetings, online webinars, and other training opportunities</li>

<p> QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:</p>
<ul><li>Knowledge of Catholic Charities services and resources.
</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to perform specific tasks such as lifting and/or standing exposed to extreme outdoor temperatures.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Knowledge of/familiarity with or ability to quickly learn the resources and programs that are available within the community/county to assist seniors, the homeless, and other indigent populations.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Knowledge of the community resources, health, and social services systems in Imperial County.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability to organize and plan own work.
</li></ul><ul><li>Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
</li></ul><ul><li>A flexible, proactive approach to work including the ability to prioritize and re-prioritize.
