This position is responsible for :

Key Responsibilities :
</div></div><ul><li><div>Greets and interviews clients requesting assistance to determine client's eligibility for assistance based on program guidelines and restrictions; records clients&rsquo; disposition and other pertinent information such as income, expenses, family, and work history; assists clients in completing applications for assistance, picture identification cards, payroll statements, utility bills etc.</div></li><li><div>
Prepares, completes, and processes food, clothing, and furniture vouchers for eligible clients; directs clients to Lodge kitchen, Thrift Store or Distribution Center for assistance.</div></li><li><div>
Provides clients with food from pantry; receives and stocks items donated for the pantry; maintains an itemized account of pantry disbursements and inventory.</div></li><li><div>
Locates and arranges temporary housing for eligible clients which may include Salvation Army housing facility; contacts local lodges, homeless shelters, motels, churches, etc. for availability and referrals.</div></li><li><div>
Processes rent and utility financial assistance for eligible clients; contacts utility organizations and landlords to arrange and process financial assistance.</div></li><li><div>
Assists eligible clients needing transportation assistance based on medical or relocation needs; arranges transportation through bus-line and contacts family members, friends, churches for assistance.</div></li></ul><div><div>
Physical Abilities &amp; Working Conditions:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p>

Provides ongoing protective casework services to children &amp; families to maintain stability in the family unit within guidelines &amp; time frames specified by federal, state &amp; local laws (i.e., interviews children &amp; families, school staff &amp; general public in office or field; provides counseling &amp; referrals; handles sensitive inquiries &amp; contacts from families, customers &amp; general public; transports customers when needed; monitors families &amp; visitations; develops, reviews, revises &amp; implements customer service plans including requirements of regulatory bodies; coordinates schedules &amp; attends meetings with &amp; cooperates with other agencies (e.g., schools, law enforcement etc.); coordinates community resources &amp; services after determining need through assessment; conducts home management program including on-site as necessary (e.g., teaching family life skills &amp; other specialized services); provides emotional support &amp; nurturance to customers; supervises assigned cases).</p><br>

Consults with Prosecutor as necessary to gain legal counsel regarding case matters. Compiles social histories &amp; diagnostic reports for agency &amp; court related to provision of agency protective services. Attends court hearings as subpoenaed or assigned (i.e., provides court documents in a timely manner as ordered or requested; testifies regarding family progress in case plan; makes recommendations for reunification &amp; on other matters pertinent to case; keeps Prosecutor properly informed &amp; cooperates with them to ensure accurate &amp; complete testimony &amp; court documents are provided). Prepares &amp; completes reports, correspondence, case records, etc. Maintains files &amp; records both written and electronic. Receives &amp; investigates complaints of child abuse &amp; neglect, dependency, or exploitation; provides diagnostic &amp; crisis intervention services: determines need &amp; eligibility for service &amp; intervention; monitors home conditions &amp; testifies in court regarding facts of case.</p><p></p><p><br>
Must be available for assignment in the on-call schedule rotation to provide 24-hour emergency services (e.g., on weekends, holidays, after business hours); attends &amp; participates in evening appointments &amp; meetings.</p><p></p><p><br>
Remains informed of current procedures pertinent to duties; participates in staff development activities; attends meetings, training &amp; conferences as assigned by director or designee to meet &amp; maintain agency, state &amp; federal training standards or mandates.</p><br>

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CHILDREN SERVICES CASEWORKER POSITIONS:</p>

Per Section 5153.112 of the Ohio Revised Code, applicants of a Public Children Services unit must have one of the following:</p>

A bachelor&rsquo;s degree in human services-related studies, or</li><li>
A bachelor&rsquo;s degree in any field and have been employed for at least two years in a human services occupation, or</li><li>
An associate&rsquo;s degree in human services-related studies, or</li><li>
Been employed for at least five years in a human service-related occupation.</li></ul>
<p>
For employment to continue, a person described in Option 2, 3, or 4 above must obtain a job-related bachelor&rsquo;s degree not later than five years after the date of employment with the agency commences.</p><p><br>
NOTE: All liability and responsibility for determining &ldquo;human services-related studies&rdquo; or &ldquo;human services-related occupation&rdquo; rests with the employing agency.</p><p><br>
Per Section 5153.122 of the Ohio Revised Code, each caseworker shall complete at least one hundred and two (102) hours of in-service training during the first year of the caseworker&rsquo;s continuous employment, consisting of courses in recognizing and preventing child abuse and neglect, assessing risks, interviewing persons, investigating cases, intervening, providing services to children and their families, and other topics relevant to child abuse and neglect. After the first year of continuous employment, each caseworker annually shall complete thirty-six hours of training in areas relevant to the caseworker&rsquo;s assigned duties.</p><br>

Provides ongoing protective casework services to children &amp; families to maintain stability in the family unit within guidelines &amp; time frames specified by federal, state &amp; local laws (i.e., interviews children &amp; families, school staff &amp; general public in office or field; provides counseling &amp; referrals; handles sensitive inquiries &amp; contacts from families, customers &amp; general public; transports customers when needed; monitors families &amp; visitations; develops, reviews, revises &amp; implements customer service plans including requirements of regulatory bodies; coordinates schedules &amp; attends meetings with &amp; cooperates with other agencies (e.g., schools, law enforcement etc.); coordinates community resources &amp; services after determining need through assessment; conducts home management program including on-site as necessary (e.g., teaching family life skills &amp; other specialized services); provides emotional support &amp; nurturance to customers; supervises assigned cases).</p><br>

Consults with Prosecutor as necessary to gain legal counsel regarding case matters. Compiles social histories &amp; diagnostic reports for agency &amp; court related to provision of agency protective services. Attends court hearings as subpoenaed or assigned (i.e., provides court documents in a timely manner as ordered or requested; testifies regarding family progress in case plan; makes recommendations for reunification &amp; on other matters pertinent to case; keeps Prosecutor properly informed &amp; cooperates with them to ensure accurate &amp; complete testimony &amp; court documents are provided). Prepares &amp; completes reports, correspondence, case records, etc. Maintains files &amp; records both written and electronic. Receives &amp; investigates complaints of child abuse &amp; neglect, dependency, or exploitation; provides diagnostic &amp; crisis intervention services: determines need &amp; eligibility for service &amp; intervention; monitors home conditions &amp; testifies in court regarding facts of case.</p><br>

Must be available for assignment in the on-call schedule rotation to provide 24-hour emergency services (e.g., on weekends, holidays, after business hours); attends &amp; participates in evening appointments &amp; meetings.</p><br>

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CHILDREN SERVICES CASEWORKER POSITIONS:</p>
<p>
Per Section 5153.112 of the Ohio Revised Code, applicants of a Public Children Services unit must have one of the following:</p>
<ul><li>
A bachelor&rsquo;s degree in human services-related studies, or</li><li>
A bachelor&rsquo;s degree in any field and have been employed for at least two years in a human services occupation, or</li><li>
An associate&rsquo;s degree in human services-related studies, or</li><li>
Been employed for at least five years in a human service-related occupation.</li></ul>
<p>
For employment to continue, a person described in Option 2, 3, or 4 above must obtain a job-related bachelor&rsquo;s degree not later than five years after the date of employment with the agency commences.</p><p><br>
NOTE: All liability and responsibility for determining &ldquo;human services-related studies&rdquo; or &ldquo;human services-related occupation&rdquo; rests with the employing agency.</p><p><br>
Per Section 5153.122 of the Ohio Revised Code, each caseworker shall complete at least one hundred and two (102) hours of in-service training during the first year of the caseworker&rsquo;s continuous employment, consisting of courses in recognizing and preventing child abuse and neglect, assessing risks, interviewing persons, investigating cases, intervening, providing services to children and their families, and other topics relevant to child abuse and neglect. After the first year of continuous employment, each caseworker annually shall complete thirty-six hours of training in areas relevant to the caseworker&rsquo;s assigned duties.</p><br>
