The Social Work Supervisor in the outpatient child psychiatry clinic participates as part of the child and adolescent psychiatry leadership team to facilitate clinical and administrative oversight of clinic operations.</p><b>
Responsibilities</b><ul><li>
Clinical and administrative supervision of clinic social work staff with the goal of ensuring quality service delivery using evidence based treatments, monitoring, tracking and supporting staff in meeting visit targets established by the division, identifying training needs of staff and supporting ongoing trainings in evidence based practices.</li><li>
Management of evaluation/intake for new clients and case assignment with goal of balancing clinical and administrative mandates to ensure compliance with state and departmental regulations.</li><li>
Provides leadership and management to ensure that clinical documentation, services and clearances of all service providers meets the regulatory standards established by outside accreditation sources such as Office of Mental Health (OMH), Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), Administration for Children&rsquo;s Services (ACS), New York State Justice Center and Division of Ambulatory Psychiatry.</li><li>
Participates as part of Ambulatory leadership team in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Ambulatory Psychiatry.</li><li>
Supports educational mission of the Division through oversight of the social work interns placed in the outpatient clinic, provides didactic teaching for trainees in psychiatry on psychosocial treatment of children, adolescents and families.</li><li>
Maintains an individual caseload of children and families at the clinic, in addition to having supervisory responsibilities.</li></ul><b>
Qualifications</b><ul><li>
NYS LCSW.</li><li>
Extensive knowledge and experience in providing and supervising evidence-based treatments with children and adolescents in a psychiatric setting.</li><li>
Knowledge of OMH, JCAHO, ACS and Justice Center regulations and the implementation of such in an outpatient mental health setting.</li><li>
Fluency in DSM V diagnostic classification system and ability to provide supervision and training on the application of this system with staff and trainees.</li><li>

<p></p><div><div>The Child Welfare Services Division of the Social Services Office is currently recruiting for an experienced and caring individual to provide clinical supervision and oversight for 7 licensed Social Workers/Child Welfare Caseworkers who provide Out-of-Home Services (Kinship and Foster Care) to children and youth throughout the developmental spectrum from ages 0-21. All the children served by this unit have been removed from their parents and are in an out-of-home placement because of an abuse and/or neglect allegation. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activity of social workers as it pertains to risk, safety, well-being, and permanency. This position is expected to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across the region to identify and develop resources and appropriate services to achieve permanency for the children overseen by the unit. The selected candidate will also provide oversight to Kinship cases.</div><div></div><div><br>
The selected candidate will also be a representative at various state and local meetings pertaining to issues of youth in foster care and appropriate service planning to support in the achievement of permanency. The selected individual will advocate for services; train staff and the community regarding service needs and available resources; represent the Department at court proceedings, as necessary; and review and evaluate program trends, data, and outcomes as well as service quality. This individual will be responsible for staff development, hiring, evaluation, and training. The selected individual will monitor unit compliance with Federal and State mandates, as relates to the foster care out-of-home population.</div><div></div><div><br>
Although the normal hours of operation for CWS are from 8:30 a.m. &ndash; 5 p.m., the Supervisor must be available to staff providing direct services to children/families who may be required/expected to work earlier or later (for example, home visits, an emergency removal, extended court hearings, etc.) Employees will need to potentially transport children and their belongings to and from locations within the State of Maryland. Candidates may need to carry car seats and children along with supplies.<br>

<div>The selected candidate will be required to successfully compete a pre-employment medical exam, drug screening and background check to include a criminal history records check through the Maryland State Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. Candidates will also be checked through the Maryland Registry for Child Abuse and Neglect and federal and state sex offender registries. <div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Minimum Qualifications</b></h2></div>
<p></p><div><div><b>Education:</b> Possession of a master&rsquo;s degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited college or university that meets the criteria of a graduate social work program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.</div><div><b>
Experience: </b>Four (4) years of full-time experience performing advanced journey-level social work case management duties (see Note below) in a public sector, health, mental health, social services, housing, or community-based services-related program of which (1) year was in a supervisory or lead capacity supervising, training, or orienting lower-level social workers, students, interns, or other staff.</div><div><b>
Equivalency: </b>See requirements of the Maryland Board of Social Worker Examiners and the Code of Maryland (COMAR); see especially 10.42.01 (Regulations Governing Licensure); 10.42.06 (Continuing Education);and10.42.08 (Supervision). The Montgomery County Office of Human Resources must follow COMAR in providing qualifications credit and accepting substitutions or equivalents. See Chapter 8 (Supervision), Subtitle 42 of Title 10. See COMAR 10.42-08.04 for positions in this class that involve clinical supervision of LMSWs and LCSWs seeking advanced licensure.</div><div><b>
Note:</b> Qualifying social work case management includes direct case work management, such as: assessment and evaluation; conducting investigations of abuse and neglect; preparing court reports; responsibility for a long term caseload, monitoring compliance through home calls and other personal contact; collaboration with other agencies and linking clients to resources and programs; development of a case plan and modification of case plans as needed/required; and authority to impose sanctions or implement actions that impact services. <p><b>Job Summary</b></p><p>The Case Manager Supervisor oversees the daily operations and performance of the Case Management team serving single adult men residing in a homeless shelter. The Case Manager Supervisor provides leadership, guidance, and supervision to Case Managers to ensure the delivery of high-quality services that support clients in achieving stability and securing permanent housing.
