Responsibilities

</ul>Required Qualifications &amp; Skills
<ul><li>Extensive hands-on software engineering experience at Vice President level or equivalent, with a strong foundation in Python or Java and a track record of delivering production-grade systems in a financial services environment.</li>
<li>Hands-on experience building and deploying AI or Machine Learning solutions in a production environment, with the ability to identify where Generative AI tooling can be embedded to measurably improve engineering workflows and analytical capabilities.</li>
<li>Ability to independently own and drive a technical agenda &mdash; setting direction, making architectural decisions, and managing project outcomes without requiring close oversight.</li>
<li>Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and scalable data processing, with the ability to make and defend architectural decisions under real-world constraints.</li>
<li>Domain knowledge in XVA (X-Value Adjustment), market risk, or related regulatory frameworks such as FRTB or Netted CVA, with the ability to engage credibly with both technical and business stakeholders.</li>
<li>Clear, confident communication skills &mdash; able to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and align diverse stakeholders around a shared project plan.</li>

What we are looking for in this person:
<ul>
<li>Significant experience in software engineering and 2+ years of experience leading projects and mentoring as a Technical Lead. For this particular role, we are looking for professional experience Python.</li>
<li>Significant experience on DevOps practices and cloud technologies (Azure)</li>
<li>Experience with AI application development and Agentic frameworks and platforms (e.g., LangGraph, Agentspace, etc.)</li>
<li>Experience working directly with clients or customers to understand technical requirements.</li>
<li>Proven experience working with Kubernetes for container orchestration.</li>
<li>Strong CI/CD experience, including hands-on work with Terraform, Helm, and other cloud-native IaC technologies.</li>
<li>Deep understanding of observability practices, with practical experience using OpenTelemetry (OTel) and related tooling.</li>
<li>Experience leading software engineering teams through technical delivery and either direct line management or mentoring.</li>
<li>Deep understanding of agile ways of working, best practices and design patterns.</li>
<li>Deep understanding of test-driven development and testing best practices.</li>
<li>Deep understanding of version control tools, e.g. Git.</li>
<li>Understanding of operational concerns (such as monitoring, performance testing, security considerations, accessibility, GDPR)</li>

Talent Call (30 mins via Zoom)

Technical Lead Assessment (90 mins, Zoom) 
A structured assessment led by a senior Technical Lead or Head of Engineering, designed to evaluate key aspects of a Technical Lead role. This session includes a selection of tasks to cover: 
 
Architecture Design &ndash; We want to see how you approach a high level problem, demonstrating your design thinking and decision-making process. 
Technical Implementation &ndash; How do you turn a design into reality, taking into account business needs? 
Code Standards and Feedback &ndash; We want to see not just your own skills, but also how you improve those around you

Hiring Manager Interview (45 mins via Zoom) 
A conversation with a Hiring Manager focused on your approach to teamwork, client collaboration, and problem-solving in an enterprise development setting. We'll also share more details about Nearform and the potential projects you may join.

There may also be an additional interview with the client depending on the project.
