Leverages knowledges across multiple technology domains to execute initiatives.</li><li>Oversees, plans and reviews the technical efforts to research, design, plan and maintain new or existing hardware, infrastructure and software platforms, and software technology components. Utilizes advanced systems, scripting and developer skills to develop methodologies to implement, integrate, and maintain new and emerging enterprise-wide systems hardware / software technology components. The role also creates, reviews, and ensures updates are made to the configuration management plan. This includes monitoring and controlling the performance and status of technology components and providing technology component support and expert problem resolution. </li><li>Formulates, defines and designs solutions' scope and objectives based on user needs. An expert in analyzing and troubleshooting issues as well as coaching and mentoring own team members as well as individuals from other disciplines in the delivery of technology. Oversees and drives collaboration of complex, hardware and software technology component analysis, and evaluation on resource requirements necessary to maintain/expand service levels or tune hardware and software infrastructure components for optimum performance.</li><li>Leads and directs the delivery of technical work of others within their own team and across other teams, possessing advanced critical thinking skills, initiative as well as a wide degree of creativity and latitude.</li><li>Leads efforts related to the installation of new software releases and system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches, and resolves software related problems. Patching is inclusive of assessing security patches based on criticality and enterprise impact.</li><li>Manages, troubleshoots and resolves alerts and tickets of the highest complexity in nature. Identifies tickets/incidents that need to be escalated to senior leadership and coordinates resolution. Leads the development of hardware break/fix resolution while working with associated vendors. Performs On-call rotational duties by providing off hour support to supported platforms, software and infrastructure through response to inquiries, reported issues and problems from the End User Community as well as items escalated through system monitoring tooling and other IT Engineering and Application Teams requiring advanced critical thinking skills and creative troubleshooting techniques. </li><li>Leads efforts on maintaining operational security through reporting and communication of security breaches or concerns as well as deriving the security remediation tasks necessary for their appropriate technology. Job Summary
 The Sr. Software Engineer works with a team of automation engineers and process engineers to develop process control concepts into machinery, support/modify software interfaced with hardware on existing machinery or design new program-controlled processes to meet manufacturing requirements. This role requires deep knowledge of semiconductor device physics, precision instrumentation, and software-hardware integration.Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain software that controls high-precision optical and electronic instrumentation for semiconductor failure analysis.Collaborate with hardware engineers and Failure Analysis experts to translate complex physical diagnostics into user-friendly software tools.Design responsive control systems that interface with CAD databases (e.g., Synopsys Avalon) for real-time navigation and transistor-level targeting.Build high-performance GUIs (C#/WPF) to visualize diagnostic data such as photon emission, waveforms, and device maps.Lead integration efforts across motion control, laser timing, optical subsystems, and signal acquisition tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, source meters).Troubleshoot complex system-level interactions and drive performance optimization. Document architecture, workflows, and test plans to ensure reliability and maintainability.Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master&rsquo;s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Semiconductor Device Engineering.5+ years of experience developing control software for scientific or diagnostic instruments in the semiconductor space.Strong programming skills in C++, C# and WPF on Windows platforms.Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics and failure mechanisms. Experience working with CAD navigation tools like Synopsys Avalon.Preferred Experience :Hands-on experience with techniques such as TIVA, LIVA, LADA, OBIRCH, or photon emission.Experience with laser microscopy or optics-based instrumentation. Familiarity with hardware interfaces (USB, PCIe, FPGA, RS-232/485).Previous roles at companies like ThermoFisher, Hamamatsu, or others in the semiconductor equipment space.Real-time data processing and high-performance visualization for complex datasets.
