SAIC is seeking a motivated and energetic senior level QA Automation Engineer to join our team to begin an exciting and challenging career in Ashburn, VA.

The Automation Engineer will participate in software testing, creation and implementation of Test Strategies, Plans, and Automated Test Scripts as well as other aspects of the software development lifecycle. The candidate will be responsible for developing and testing Java code as dictated by project requirement.

This position is hybrid-remote and requires 2 days on-site per week in Ashburn, VA.

Job Responsibilities &ndash;

<li>Design and execute tests: Create and implement automated test scripts to verify software functionality, security, and usability.</li>
<li>Write test plans: Develop detailed test plans and test cases, often using test management tools.</li>

Strengthen engineering practices for requirements management, design review, configuration control, testing, FAT readiness, release management, and change control.&middot; Develop and execute test plans, FAT procedures, verification checklists, release notes, and technical documentation.&middot; Troubleshoot complex technical issues across controls, SCADA, networking, databases, communications, and field integration.&middot; Support Sales in technical discovery calls, client workshops, site walks, solution presentations, estimates, proposal narratives, technical clarifications, and statements of work.&middot; 8+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, SCADA engineering, systems integration, or related technical roles.&middot; Strong hands-on experience developing and delivering PLC, HMI, and SCADA solutions.&middot; Ability and willingness to personally execute development work while also providing architecture, mentorship, and technical leadership.&middot; Experience with at least one major SCADA platform such as Ignition, Cygnet, Wonderware/AVEVA, VTScada, or similar.&middot;
