We&rsquo;re looking for a hands-on Test Developer (3+ years&rsquo; experience) to join R&amp;D teams building HMI firmware and software for industrial panels. This is a developer-first testing role: you will design and implement test frameworks, build automated test infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, and work closely with embedded and application developers to shift testing left and raise automation coverage.</p><p></p><p><b>
Key responsibilities</b></p><ul>
<li>Design, implement and maintain automated tests and reusable test frameworks for firmware, embedded and HMI applications (unit, integration, API, UI, and system-level tests).</li>
<li>Build and operate test environments and device labs (virtualized and physical), enabling automated test execution at scale.</li>
<li>Own and improve CI/CD pipelines that run tests for feature branches, merges and releases (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar).</li>
<li>Develop test tooling and harnesses in Python and C++ to enable local and CI test execution.</li>
<li>Implement test orchestration, reporting and monitoring (test result aggregation, flakiness tracking, coverage metrics).</li>
<li>Collaborate with scrum teams to ensure product testability and to define test strategy and release-quality criteria.</li>
<li>Reproduce and triage defects with development teams; provide detailed diagnostics and actionable bug reports.</li>
<li>Identify test gaps, introduce improvements and help adopt test-driven and DevOps practices across teams.</li>
<li>Conform with Siemens processes, quality standards and documentation practices.</li>
<li>Use Generative AI tools responsibly to accelerate test development and documentation.</li>
</ul><p><b>Required qualifications</b></p><ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.</li>
<li>3+ years of hands-on experience in software development and test automation (embedded, desktop or web).</li>
<li>Strong programming skills in Python; practical experience with C++.</li>
<li>Solid experience with Linux-based development and debugging on devices.</li>
<li>Hands-on experience building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.).</li>
<li>Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tooling; experience implementing tests (unit, integration, system).</li>
<li>Good understanding of software engineering fundamentals (OOP, data structures, algorithms) and software testing principles.</li>

  Reporting to the Manager, Quality Assurance, the Software Engineer in Test (SET) is a motivated, mid-level individual contributor and a key member of the engineering team responsible for owning the test cycles for all product releases and upholding quality across all Elixir products. This individual will design, review with peers, and execute all tests pertinent to each release, covering both manual and automation test tasks. The SET will architect and design the test case coverage, execute black-box and gray-box testing, as well as run existing automated tests within each cycle. Moreover, this individual will assist in the development of automated tests, under guidance of SQA Automation Engineers, using existing frameworks for new and existing product features and will focus on the testability, robustness, and performance of our production software. As an active agile member of our sprint teams, the SET will collaborate effectively with all internal disciplines - including engineering, quality assurance, operations, technical support, and product management.
