In this role, you will be integral to our waste management operations, ensuring efficient collection and disposal of solid waste while maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our community.</p><p><b>GENERAL DESCRIPTION</b></p><p>Work involves heavy manual labor involved in the collection and disposal of refuse, special pick-up items, brush/yard waste and recyclables on a scheduled basis. This may include riding on a refuse collection vehicle, walking to designated disposal areas, emptying containers into truck, using hand and other tools to pick-up general curbside trash and other duties as directed. Work is performed outside on a varied work schedule that may include weekends, holidays, and overtimes. Work is performed within established Division guidelines, standards, and practices, including established task system varying assignments and hours.</p><p><b>REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS</b></p><p><b>Reports to:</b> Solid Waste Supervisor</p><p>Public Works Director</p><p>City Manager</p><p><b>Supervises: </b> None</p><p><b>ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS</b></p><p>1. Rides on the back of a collection compactor vehicle over a designated route; walks to the waste disposal areas of commercial and residential premises, picking up refuse in containers, bags and piles of yard waste and loading into compactor.</p><p>2. Picks up spilled refuse and other debris, using hand and other tools as required.</p><p>3. Operates lever for truck compactor as communicated with Operator.</p><p>4. Makes special pick-ups as assigned.</p><p>5. Observes surrounding conditions such as citizens, equipment, property, etc., to assure that solid waste is collected in a safe manner; regulates traffic in hazardous conditions to assure safety conditions for the collection personnel and the general public.</p><p>6. Washes collection vehicles on a scheduled basis; hoses down thoroughly on a daily basis; washes dumpsters on a scheduled basis.</p><p>7. Performs daily routine inspection and preventive maintenance as required on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to the Solid Waste Supervisor.</p><p>8. Keeps the Solid Waste Supervisor informed of all work-related issues and problems that may affect and/or improve the operation of their respective areas.</p><p>9. May be required to work in other Divisions on an as needed basis and as assigned by the Solid Waste Supervisor or the Public Works Director.</p><p>10. Performs all duties in conformance with established and appropriate safety and security standards.</p><p>11. Ensures the proper maintenance or equipment and tools by cleaning and checking equipment and tools after use.</p><p>12. About the role</b></p><p></p><p>
The Waste Process Technician I (WPT I) is an entry level position responsible to safely perform the following fundamental tasks which may include the following based on individual Business Unit: off-loading inbound trucks, waste stream QA/QC, verify container count, manifest number and other relevant data needed for waste processing. Container sampling, recognizing non-conforming material, and processing of material through shredding operations, direct loading into solidification pit, LDI, etc. The WPT I is expected to have a general mechanical understanding of waste processing equipment. Specifically, via forklift, forklift attachments, hose, and valve operation.</p><p></p><p><b>
Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>
Understand basic facility permit requirements and conduct daily activities to support all safety and compliance requirements.</li><li>
Operate a variety of equipment including but not limited to pressure washers, power tools, hand trucks, forklifts, and other power tools in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as OSHA requirements.</li><li>
Safely operate mobile equipment (e.g., yard dog) within the facility boundaries.</li><li>
Able to off load inbound packages, liquid trucks, and containers.</li><li>
Process inbound material using facility and mobile equipment.</li><li>
Waste stream QA/QC &amp; Lab analysis associated with receiving and shipping waste and material.</li><li>
Complete and submit all facility associated paperwork (facility receiving, piece count, material verification, manifest review, etc.) associated with regulatory and safety record keeping paperwork.</li><li>
General cleaning of facility and grounds.</li></ul><p><b>
Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>
High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred</li><li><i>

The range below reflects Reworld&rsquo;s reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.</p><p></p>
The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $39,200.00 - $52,100.00 USD. For hourly roles, this is the annualized salary. To calculate the hourly rate, divide by 2080.<p></p><p><b>
