Your Impact
You will lead our Solutions Engineering team for Mollie Connect, a team of six, spread across three offices, that bridges Product and our most demanding users: platforms that embed and monetise payments and financial services through Mollie.
Your team operates at the intersection of technology, product, and commercial strategy. You translate complex business requirements into technical solutions and vice versa, from the first pre-sales conversation through implementation and beyond. Your counterparts are CTOs, solution architects, and engineering teams at Europe's most ambitious software platforms, marketplaces, and enterprise organisations.
This is a player-coach role. You'll lead and develop the team while staying deeply hands-on with our most complex and strategic engagements. You'll shape how we sell, how we implement, and how we feed learnings back into the Connect product roadmap.

What you'll bring<ul><li>
7+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting, Sales Engineering, or a comparable role in the software/SaaS industry.</li><li>
At least 2 years of experience leading a team, whether as a formal team lead or in a senior player-coach capacity. You know how to develop people, set direction, and create the conditions for a team to do their best work.</li><li>
Strong technical acumen. You're comfortable reading and discussing APIs, integration architectures, and technical documentation. You can hold your own in conversations with engineers, architects, and CTOs.</li><li>
Hands-on experience with APIs, webhooks, and modern integration patterns. You understand how platforms are built and how payments fit into broader technology ecosystems.</li><li>

<div>HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED<ul><li>
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, Industrial Engineering or a related field.</li><li>
2+ years of experience in power systems, grid operations, smart grid technologies or the digitalization of grid operators.</li><li>
Understanding of electricity network operations and the challenges associated with energy transition and grid modernization.</li><li>
Interest in combining engineering knowledge with digital technologies and consulting.</li><li>
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication and collaboration skills.</li><li>
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic project environment.</li><li>
Dutch language proficiency at B2 level or higher.</li><li>
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.</li></ul>

Experience with Operational Technology (OT), SCADA systems or control room environments.</li><li>
Knowledge of IT/OT convergence, industrial networking and cybersecurity concepts.</li><li>

Understanding of power system protection, control and automation.</li><li>
Hands-on experience with IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104 or related communication standards.</li><li>
Knowledge of DMS, OMS, TMS, DERMS or other grid management systems.</li><li>
Experience with flexibility management, congestion management and market interaction.</li><li>
Knowledge of energy storage systems and renewable energy integration.</li><li>
Experience with data analytics, AI or advanced digital solutions in the energy sector.</li><li>
Familiarity with energy-sector regulations and market developments.</li><li>
Experience working directly with clients and stakeholders.</li><li>
Certification in Agile, PRINCE2, PMP or other project management methodologies.</li></ul>
