Precision and clinical expertise: You perform the full spectrum of non-invasive cardiac and vascular ultrasound studies&mdash;2D, 3D, contrast-enhanced, strain, and M-mode echocardiography with Doppler and color flow, plus arterial, venous, carotid, and peripheral vascular exams&mdash;in full accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols. You obtain accurate diagnostic images, Doppler waveforms, and measurements, and you evaluate your own work for diagnostic completeness before it reaches the interpreting physician.

Clinical judgment and communication: You understand cardiac and vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology at a level that lets you recognize abnormal findings in real time and communicate significant observations to physicians clearly and without delay. Your hemodynamic assessments are thorough, your escalation instincts are sharp, and you do not wait to be asked when something needs attention.

Mastery of standards and systems: You are proficient in PACS, RIS, EMR, and Studycast systems. Your documentation is accurate, complete, and entered in real time. You maintain equipment through routine QC checks, follow infection control and HIPAA standards without exception, and keep your certifications and competencies current.

Agility and autonomy: You manage your own workflow in a high-volume outpatient environment, adapt when exam complexity or patient needs shift mid-appointment, and keep things moving without needing constant direction. You're a Strong Fit if You Have</h3><div>

Job SummaryThe mission of the Instructor in the Education Department, regardless of curriculum, is to provide the student(s), our customers(s), with the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain entry-level employment in the field of their chosen program of study. To accomplish this mission, all instructors will utilize their talents, skills, and abilities in a coordinated and consistent team effort under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Education. The following are essential qualifications, duties and areas of responsibility that each instructor agrees to accept as a condition of employment. <div><div>The Ultrasound Technologist performs or assists in ultrasound examinations, renders technical assistance to the Radiologist, and maintains and cares for all ultrasound equipment.</div><div> 
<ul><li>Prepares and examines all patients, verifying their identity for ultrasound examinations in accordance with established departmental procedures and techniques, which includes obtaining health status and medical history, patient&rsquo;s cooperation or ability to tolerate the examination. Confirms that the ultrasound examination correlates with patient clinical history and presentation. Inform physician in charge of any contraindications to the procedure.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Operates and adjusts ultrasound equipment, cleans and makes minor adjustments, taking safety precautions necessary to protect patients and personnel from electric shock or other hazards. Reports any malfunction to the appropriate person.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Communicates with the patient, their representative and staff. Explains the exam and instructions to the patient and other health care providers, answering questions that are unrelated to specific diagnostic, treatment and/or prognosis.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Develops and/or modifies a procedure plan from health status and medical history and appropriate considerations .Uses independent professional judgment to adopt the procedure plan to optimize exam results. Performs exams under general or direct physician supervision as defined by the procedure, adjusting scanning technique to optimize image qualify and spectral waveform characteristics.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Analyzes sonographic findings so comprehensive exams sufficient for a physician to direct patient management and render a diagnosis can be obtained. Perform measurements and calculations according to laboratory and ACR protocols and guidelines. Minimize patient exposure to acoustic energy without compromising exam quality or completeness.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Notifies appropriate health care provider when immediate medical attention is needed. Evaluates patient's status prior to discharge from the ultrasound department.</li></ul>

Successful completion of the MSHS hiring process. Commencing work within 14 days of graduation. Successful completion of ARDMS Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI) examination prior to your date of hire.</li>
