Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 currently has an opening for a Special Education LBS1 Resource Teacher. The goal of this position is to provide specialized instruction and supports in various environments where students with disabilities have an opportunity to succeed in accordance with their Individual Educational Plan (IEP).<br>
<br>
<b>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></div><ul><li>
Manage and administer an appropriate program of instruction for students identified as having disabilities</li><li>
Prepare an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for each child</li><li>
Monitor and update each Individual Education Plan using electronic IEP system</li><li>
Conference with parents concerning the Individual Education Plan</li><li>
Provide appropriate assessment and evaluation of each child's program</li><li>
Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation</li><li>
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities</li><li>
Submit required testing and update information in a timely fashion</li><li>
Attend in-service programs in order to remain current in all areas dealing with special education disabilities</li><li>
Provide parents and teachers with suggestions on how to be more effective with children with disabilities</li><li>
Use appropriate techniques and strategies that promote and enhance critical, creative, and evaluative thinking of students</li><li>
Use appropriate instruction strategies and materials they reflect each student's culture, learning styles, special needs, and socioeconomic background</li><li>
Fulfill the terms of any affected written contract and adhere to the Codes of Ethics and Principles of Professional Conduct of the Education Profession in Illinois</li><li>
Assist in the enforcement of all federal, state and district regulations, policies and procedures</li><li>
Monitor students in a testing environment</li><li>
Make all decisions and perform all tasks in accordance with District 47's policies and philosophies</li><li>
Ensure compliance with Board rules and applicable federal laws and regulations</li><li>
Case manage students to ensure all specialized services are provided</li><li>
