 The Philadelphia Inquirer is seeking a Sports Reporter Intern who is passionate about covering sports stories across the Philadelphia region.
 
 
 This is a 9-week, paid, full-time internship running from June through August 2026.
 
 
 
 What You&rsquo;ll Do

 Be at the center of the sports conversation, helping shape coverage that reflects what audiences are thinking and talking about in real time
 </li>
 <li>
 Report quickly and accurately on breaking news, games, and trending sports topics
 </li>
 <li>
 Identify meaningful storylines beyond the headlines and develop compelling narratives on deadline
 </li>
 <li>
 Cover a range of sports topics, from daily coverage to deeper enterprise stories
 </li>
 <li>
 Focus on both the Philadelphia sports scene and relevant national trends
 </li>
 <li>
 Stay curious and proactive in pitching story ideas and angles
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with reporters, editors, and other members of the sports team
 </li>
 <li>
 Experiment with different storytelling formats, including digital and social platforms
 </li>
 <li>
 Complete a final capstone project summarizing your experience and key takeaways
 
 
 </li>

 Who We&rsquo;re Looking For

 Must be attending an accredited college or university
 </li>
 <li>
 Rising juniors or seniors studying journalism, communications, or a related field, as well as recent graduates and current graduate students

 Experience working for a college news outlet; prior professional internship experience is a plus
 </li>

 Strong understanding of digital media platforms and audience engagement
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and journalistic ethics
 </li>

 Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
 </li>
 <li>
 Willingness to learn new tools, formats, and reporting techniques
 </li>

 A strong sense of curiosity and interest in sports, culture, and community impact

Who We AreSports Broadcast Solutions, or SBS for short, goes by the slogan &quot;A Broadcasting Network for Everyone.&quot; We offer live broadcasts for the non-professional athlete. We film in 720P HD, 1080P HD, and 4K. We offer everything from live score banners and time codes to pregame and postgame interviews, play-by-play commentary, live stats, and much, much more. We also offer professional sports uploads. For example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WRNNyP3pT4What the Role EncompassesWe are looking for interns who are interested in becoming better account executives, video editors, script writers, voiceover specialists, play-by-play commentators, color commentators, and field reporters. All paid work is determined by a number of factors and is described in more detail at the bottom of this page.Meanwhile, these are the expectations of the interns (College credit is available upon request):<ul><li>REMOTE WORK (Professional Sports Uploads): Video editing, script writing, and voiceover. Can be as much as 25-45% commission. Can become base + commission. The video editing component is crucial to our professional sports uploads. Please note that we usually don't hire mere voiceover artists for our professional sports uploads. The whole point of this internship is learning how to create engaging professional sports content as a full cycle content creator. Training is provided for the non-linear editing component of the internship, but the training is very limited in scope. For more information on our professional sports uploads, please go to sportsbroadcastsolutions.com/blog.</li><li>REMOTE SALES WORK: We offer account executive work for applicants who wish to get more experience with media buying. This becomes a base salary + commission role once you establish a client base. 20-45% commission. Can become base + commission.</li><li>REMOTE WORK (Slow Motion Instant Replay Video Editing): Must have a background in video editing.</li><li>IN-PERSON WORK: Play-by-play commentary, color commentary, videography, field reporting, and technical directing. All live broadcasts are for NON-professional sporting events (i.e. travel baseball, junior hockey, high school athletics, college athletics, etc.).</li><li>STUDIO WORK: Not applicable. Most of our clients don't want to do anything with green screen technology or studio shows.</li><li>PAID WORK: For anything related to on-air work, payment depends on your qualifications and if other candidates aren't available for a certain assignment. Professional sports uploads are paid by how the account is monetized on YouTube. Job Description 
The Field Producer for FIFA World Cup on Telemundo is responsible for the successful planning and execution of a show or segment for TV or Digital Platforms. The role of the Field producer is to prepare the editorial content for the broadcast both for linear and non-linear platforms, also to assist with the management of different aspects of the production operation and logistics, coordinating with internal and external support areas. Field Producers are expected to lead talents and technical personnel providing direction, information and clearly communicating plans and assignments.
This is a project/limited term position, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.
Please note this role has been established on a temporary basis.
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Meet with Producer, Assignments and Area Managers to review production schedule, as well as editorial content for upcoming shows.</li><li>
Coordinate specific production and operations needs for broadcasts, including transportation, editorial research, accreditations and technical needs.</li><li>
Verify that talents have all the elements they need before they go on the air, including promotional and sponsored mentions.</li><li>
Prepare original editorial content in conjunction with talent and in coordination with the production team at Telemundo Center as needed.</li><li>
Manage requests from production team that may include packages, live shots, live on tapes, and/or coverage of events such as training sessions, press conferences among others.</li><li>
Write and supervise scripts, as needed.</li><li>
Be proactive. Provide story ideas and offer suggestions to improve broadcasts and non-linear coverage on a regular basis. Research stories and produce pieces as needed.</li><li>
Attain a complete knowledge of all show elements; how they work and how they are applied within the various shows.</li><li>
Prepare scripts and materials for cross-promotional purposes and for use by digital media department and network affiliates.</li><li>

Qualifications 
Basic Qualifications<ul><li>
A solid knowledge of sports content with an emphasis on international soccer.</li><li>
Three years of experience as a field producer required, with an emphasis in storytelling, talent management, logistics and operations.</li><li>
Five years&rsquo; experience working in broadcast television.</li><li>
Proficiency in Social Media use and content generation for Social channels.</li><li>
A bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Journalism, Communications, Broadcasting or Radio/TV/Film from an accredited university or collage.</li><li>
Fluent bilingual English/Spanish written, and verbal communication skills are critical.</li><li>
Ability to interact effectively with all sports operation&rsquo;s personnel and specific department personnel who can impact the daily operations.</li><li>
Must be able to work a non-conventional work schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and must have a valid passport for travel.</li><li>
Demonstrated organizational skills. Able to work effectively in a high-pressure environment without direct supervision.</li><li>
Ability to multi-task and follow directions from various members of the team.</li><li>
Ability to communicate in a fast-paced and stressful environment.</li><li>
Must be able to always represent the department and company in a professional and ethical manner.</li><li>
Must be able to perform job at locations in and outside work environment with varying weather conditions.</li></ul>

Must be willing to submit to a background investigation</li><li>
Must be 18 years or older</li><li>
Must have a valid driver&rsquo;s license</li><li>
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States</li><li>
