About This Role 
 
Wells Fargo is seeking a Cybersecurity Platform SRE Manager to take ownership of the reliability, resilience, and operational excellence of mission-critical cybersecurity platforms supporting a 24&times;7 global enterprise. You will lead a team of Site Reliability Engineers responsible for keeping core security services stable, performant, and secure under real-world conditions. Key Responsibilities 
 
<ul><li>Own cybersecurity platform reliability:</li></ul> 
Define and track SLIs/SLOs, capacity plans, and reliability improvements to ensure availability, performance, and resilience across cybersecurity platforms such as identity services, secrets management, authentication services, and security tooling. 
 
<ul><li>Lead a 24&times;7 operational model:</li></ul> 
Manage on-call rotations, incident response, and escalation processes; participate in Major Incident Management and ensure timely communication and follow-through. 
 
<ul><li>Engineer for resiliency:</li></ul> 
Guide the team in failure mode analysis, resiliency testing, high-availability architectures, backup and recovery validation, and disaster recovery exercises. 
 
<ul><li>Drive automation and operations as code:</li></ul> 
Promote CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated health checks, configuration management, and self-service tooling to reduce operational toil. 
 
<ul><li>Strengthen observability:</li></ul> 
Establish consistent logging, metrics, dashboards, alerting, and service health reporting using modern observability platforms. 
 
<ul><li>Manage risk and compliance obligations:</li></ul> 
Partner with Risk and Compliance teams to support audit readiness, change governance, access controls, and regulatory expectations such as SOX, FFIEC, GLBA, and PCI, where applicable. 
 
<ul><li>Lead and develop engineers:</li></ul> 
Manage, coach, and grow a team of SRE and platform engineers; set clear goals, support skill development, and foster a blameless, learning-oriented culture.

Collaborate with platform owners, security architects, cloud teams, and application teams to align reliability priorities and deliver stable, scalable cybersecurity services.

Required Qualifications 
 
<ul><li>5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education</li></ul> 
<ul><li>2+ years of Leadership experience</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Experience operating enterprise-scale cybersecurity or critical infrastructure platforms in a 24&times;7 environment</li></ul>

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $165,000 per year at the commencement of employment. As a principal contributor in our Apple Data Platform SRE organization you will apply SRE principles as you mentor and partner with our engineers and partner teams, ensuring petabyte-scale analytics infrastructure runs reliably and efficiently. This role focuses on managing bare-metal and cloud based infrastructure, levering and extending our infrastructure-as-code based tooling, analyzing and optimizing performance, helping to plan and execute long term fleet management logistics, capacity planning, and ultimately maintaining operational excellence across distributed data platforms that power analytics across Apple. This role includes production on-call responsibilities. 
 
Description 
 
Apple Service Engineering (ASE) teams build and scale the platforms and infrastructure behind many of Apple's services (such as iCloud, iTunes, Siri, and Maps). We are the foundation on which Apple's software developers build the products that our customers love. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Senior Site Reliability Engineer to provide technical leadership on our team to help ensure our customers have the highest quality Apple Services experience. The Apple Data Platform (ADP) Compute SRE team is responsible for the core infrastructure, including our legacy bare-metal platforms and modern cloud based infrastructure stack. We partner with both peer SRE teams and several of our world-class software and product engineering teams to support infrastructure reliability, multi-year parallel migrations for Apple properties, as well as the automation, tooling, incident, and process management necessary to ensure smooth 24x7 operations for ADP customers.&quot;,&quot;responsibilities&quot;:&quot;Principal/Lead SRE for ADP Compute SRE team, mentoring other ICs, and partnering with other senior engineers to ensure service architecture, tooling, design, and implementations are of the highest quality. 
 
Identifying efficiency improvements in technical operations and training partner teams, leading by example. 
 
Managing infrastructure fleet capacity, growth, and hardware lifecycle with innovative tooling, effective planning, and proactive check-ins with our leadership and program management teams. 
 
Providing technical leadership for Hadoop and Kubernetes infrastructure, tooling (including infrastructure-as-code), and services. 
 
Programming in Python and Golang supported by Generative AI tooling to accelerate development of mission critical automation and tools. 
 
Proactive collaboration and presentation skills to effectively communicate ideas and represent the deliverables and needs of the SRE team with ASE leadership. 
 
Production on-call and incident management responsibilities. 
 
Preferred Qualifications 
 
15+ YoE in SRE or related work managing infrastructure at scale 
 
Experience with scale testing, disaster recovery, and capacity planning 
 
Ability to define the technical roadmap for infrastructure and drive cross-functional alignment on architectural standards and best practices 
 
Minimum Qualifications 
 
BS/MS in Computer Science or Equivalent 
 
12+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, managing infrastructure and services at scale 
 
5+ years of experience in management or technical leadership roles 
 
History of end-to-end project management and delivery 
 
Demonstrable programming skills to both develop software/tools and lead code reviews 
 
Experience managing Hadoop and Kubernetes infrastructure and related services, or equivalent experience 
 
Advanced knowledge of Linux, Networking, and Containers

Pay &amp; Benefits 
 
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple Services infrastructure is planetary scale. Our Data Platform Site Reliability Engineering team manages the infrastructure and applications on bare-metal and cloud computing platforms to deliver data processing, governance, and storage for many of Apple&rsquo;s global products and organizations. Our platform teams work with exabytes of data, terabytes of memory, and hundreds of thousands of jobs running millions of executors to support predicable and performant data analytics. Our platform enables key features in Apple Music, TV, Maps, News, and other world class products. Ensuring all of these technologies in geographically distributed data centers work together in harmony presents unique challenges. As an SRE at Apple, you&rsquo;ll need to solve problems that arise using empirical data, teamwork, and your own unique expertise. 
 
Data Platform Services SREs work directly with our partner engineering teams, tightly collaborating with the software developers to deliver seamless experiences for our customers. We run a mix of open source, vendor licensed, and proprietary tools which you will use and have opportunities to improve upon. The cross functional team collaborates to ensure we apply a consistent incident management process across all data platform services and provide user journey based SLOs derived from exhaustive observability metrics, high availability architecture, and automation for deployments. We think critically and strive to balance long-term optimal solutions with the business priorities for each engineering challenge we face. Good ideas are heard and results are rewarded. 
 
Preferred Qualifications 
 
Proficiency with the architecture, deployment, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of open source data analytics or governance technologies such as Apache Spark, Flink, Hive, Hadoop/HDFS, Trino, and/or Druid. 
 
The successful candidate is frustrated with toil and has an acute drive to both automate manual operations and evolve them into automatic processes. 
 
Minimum Qualifications 
 
BS/MS in Computer Science or Equivalent 
 
5+ years of software development or production operations experience in a large-scale environment 
 
Proficiency in authoring and releasing code in Go, Python, or Java using common configuration management and software delivery platforms 
 
Experience operating production applications at scale, including well designed performance testing, HA and disaster recovery concepts, capacity planning, and managing distributed systems on internal and public cloud infrastructure, principally Kubernetes 
 
Understanding of the Linux Operating System, containers and virtualization, standard networking protocols, and components 
 
Strong sense of ownership and integrity demonstrated through clear communication and collaboration 
 
Demonstrates excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills using the scientific method
