Responsibilities:

In collaboration with physicians, residents and other healthcare professionals the pharmacist is directly and indirectly involved in the care of patients with regards to the prescribing, preparation, dispensing, and administration and monitoring of medications. As regulatory standards change over time the pharmacist will meet the needs of these new requirements as they become the standard of the profession. Staff pharmacists provide guidance and oversight to direct support personnel, including technicians. In the absence of a pharmacy manager or lead pharmacist, a staff pharmacist may be required to assume essential responsibilities and perform duties of a pharmacy manager, until a manager is on site or able to assert authority by other means. The staff pharmacist must be able to work independently with minimal direct supervision. The staff pharmacist must be able to work cooperatively with other department staff, management, medical staff and other health-system employees. They must be able to adapt to differing work conditions, changing workload and be able to handle numerous and continuous interruptions. The staff pharmacist must display critical thinking in their decision-making processes, be able to adapt to changing priorities and handle emergency situations by displaying excellent judgment and expedited performance. FirstHealth of the Carolinas, Moore Regional Hospital, is in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Our inpatient pharmacy is seeking a clinical pharmacist to provide exceptional patient care. The position is primarily based at the Moore Campus.

This is a 40 hour per week position including one weekend per month with one evening shift weekly. The position is in-person with occasional remote opportunities. The pharmacy department is highly automated utilizing Epic EMR, Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets and I.V workflow management systems.

<b>Responsibilities:</b><br>
Responsibilities include order verification, multi-disciplinary rounds, initiation and follow up of pharmacokinetic monitoring, and assisting providers with antibiotic selection and drug information.

Thorough knowledge of pharmaceuticals and contemporary pharmacy practice is required. The clinical pharmacist must complete organize activities that are executed via established procedures and techniques within the pharmacy department. Attention to detail is required to ensure proper interpretation of clinical information.
