 Hearst Connecticut Media Group (HCMG) journalists serve communities across Connecticut, producing trusted local journalism that reaches readers wherever they are &mdash; on CTInsider.com, through our app, newsletters, social platforms, video channels and our portfolio of 10 daily and a group of weeklies.
 
 
 We&rsquo;re looking for a collaborative, organized and thoughtful Reporter Intern for an 8 to 10 week paid full-time internship embedded in our newsroom.
 
 
 The Reporter Intern could cover topics ranging from food to breaking news to municipal to trending coverage. They can also take on a small special project in collaboration with other journalists.
 
 
 
 Duties and responsibilities could include:
 
 
 
 Works collaboratively with editors to tell impactful stories across platforms that engage and retain local subscribers and other readers
 
 
 Reports and writes quickly and effectively to break news online and follows up when appropriate with more in-depth enterprise pieces
 
 
 Effectively shoots and edits photos and video to accompany stories as needed
 
 
 
 Qualifications:
 
 
 
 Strong writing, editing and verbal communication skills
 
 
 Some college experience, preferably in an English, communications or related field
 
 
 Organized and detail-oriented with a proven ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks

 The reporter will be based in the fast-growing Charlotte metro area, joining a reporting group that is fun, team-oriented and always looking for new ways to reach readers and tell the unique stories of the Queen City.
 
 
 The service journalism team is focused on utility journalism with a mission to help local readers navigate day-to-day life. Service journalists use an accessible approach to write explainers, Q&amp;As, fact checks and answer questions locally trending online. Reporters in this role also contribute to local and regional news and breaking news coverage.
 
 
 This reporter should be able to craft stories based on local users&rsquo; needs and interests, engage directly with readers online and potentially in person.
 
 
 The reporter in this position will write frequently &ndash; they will welcome daily assignments as well as cultivate and pitch their own ideas, finding stories and questions in every corner of the community, online and in person. Service journalists dig into city curiosities as well as &ldquo;talkers&rdquo; on sites like Nextdoor and Reddit.
 
 
 An enthusiasm for working in a team-centered environment that emphasizes support and occasional shared bylines is essential. A willingness to learn audience development skills, such as digital headline writing and SEO, is a must.
 
 
 Expertise in a particular subject area is not required, but the successful candidate will bring to the role areas of interest and a deep understanding of what&rsquo;s important to local readers, preferably earned by working as part of a local news outlet. ACAMS moneylaundering.com is seeking an experienced senior reporter in Washington, D.C., to regularly file breaking news and features on federal bills, hearings, rulemakings, judgments and other events that pertain to money laundering and other financial crimes or impact the responsibilities of banks and other companies to identify and combat them.
 The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience reporting for daily or trade publications, and an aptitude for learning their beat quickly, developing sources, collaborating with colleagues, and pitching and filing their own stories by deadline. Experience with financial crime-related journalism is a big plus, as is fluency in another language. The successful candidate will also have light editing duties and the possibility of becoming D.C. bureau chief.
 
Responsibilities
