Position Summary</h3>
The Nursing Scheduler/Central Supply plays a critical role in supporting nursing operations by ensuring appropriate staffing coverage, tracking attendance, and maintaining accurate scheduling and payroll documentation. This position works closely with the Director of Nursing (DON), Human Resources, and facility leadership.<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>

Job Summary</h3>
The Staff Scheduler is responsible for assisting with staff scheduling for the Nursing Department. This position helps coordinate an effective, efficient schedule under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and works closely with nursing supervisors to meet shift-specific nursing care hour needs.<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Responsibilities and Duties</h3><ul><li>
Schedule all nursing staff and prepare the weekly nursing schedule; notify staff of their schedules and any necessary changes.</li><li>
Receive incoming calls and direct them appropriately to address nursing scheduling issues. Notify Nursing Administration of staffing shortages, scheduling conflicts, or coverage concerns.</li><li>
Obtain approval from the Director of Nursing/Administrator before scheduling overtime or utilizing nursing registry personnel.</li><li>
Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes such as illness, vacation, PTO, and other staffing needs.</li><li>

Assist the nursing office with clinical management tasks as needed.</li><li>

<ul><li>Identifies staffing needs for the division on a daily basis to ensure the assigned division operates effectively and efficiently. Monitors productivity of inpatient units and reallocates staff as needed to maintain acceptable productivity levels.</li><li>
Evaluates and assesses payroll reports comparing reported time to bi-weekly payroll reports and identifies discrepancies in a timely manner to ensure the accuracy of employee pay. Edits and completes corrections to ensure records are accurate. Distributes payroll on a bi-weekly basis according to established procedures.</li><li>
Contacts employees to fill vacant shifts daily and/or weekly to ensure units are staffed appropriately. Ensures employee contact data is maintained and current.</li><li>
Compiles and maintains current productivity based staffing requirements for assigned division. Updates ANSOS as required.</li><li>
Evaluates and obtains approval for overtime shifts when applicable to fill critical vacant shifts and maintain acceptable productivity to ensure patient safety.</li><li>
Communicates with on-coming/off-going supervisors regarding status of staffing in the assigned division.</li><li>
