This position is located in the Office of the Executive Director, District of Columbia Public Library (DCPL), Events, Exhibits &amp; Development Department. The Events, Exhibits &amp; Development Department manages all revenue-generating projects for DC Public Library, including our Event Rentals program; coordinates major Library programs at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library; and is responsible for the implementation of the Library&rsquo;s Arts &amp; Exhibits program.
The position serves as an Events Program Coordinator and is responsible for the administrative process of planning, coordinating, and executing events and special activities for DCPL. The Events Program Coordinator works with vendors, staff, and other stakeholders to host DC Public Library public events and private paid event rentals. 
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>
Organizes, produces, and manages library-sponsored events and event rentals for the DC Public Library, most of which will occur at the newly modernized Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, but on occasion may occur at one of neighborhood libraries.</li><li>
Library events include author talks, festivals, cultural programs and performances, film screenings, or other community-based programming. Event rentals may include private events such as weddings or birthday parties; corporate and non-profit board meetings, fundraising events, and galas; or invitation-only events sponsored by other District or Federal government agencies.</li><li>
Develops event run-of-shows and staffing needs for each event in collaboration with other Library departments, including Public Safety, Facilities, and Public Service.</li><li>
Creates, maintains, and distributes event documents, including schedule, contact sheet, and event program, and logistics to include parking, credentials, talent, craft services, and signage.</li><li>
Manages contract requests and payment process for event rental clients and program partners. Works closely with the Library&rsquo;s Finance, Legal, and Risk Management teams to ensure that all events follow all District regulations and Library policies.</li><li>
Maintains accurate records, preparing reports, and documenting program outcomes; assist in program evaluation, research and reporting to improve future events.</li><li>
Monitors proper funding and in-kind usage for agency events. Manages records of all contracts and payments associated with events.</li><li>
Work in partnership with Event Manager to provide prospective clients with information about the various spaces available at the Library; updated, accurate information about rental rates, space availability, and capacities; and other key information.</li><li>
In partnership with others on the Events team, manages the marketing resources for the event rental program, including a website presence, social media, and advertising, while helping to ensure that all marketing for the event rental program is consistent with DCPL&rsquo;s overall branding and marketing efforts</li><li>

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT

Position Summary: 
The Service Coordinator supports participants in accessing and coordinating services through Medicaid Waiver programs, the MA State Plan, and other social and medical resources. This role manages an assigned caseload and ensures participant-centered planning, service coordination, compliance, and ongoing engagement through a hybrid work model combining remote administrative work and field-based participant support.
 
Position Scope: 
The Service Coordinator is responsible for coordinating services, monitoring participant outcomes, and advocating for individuals across home and community-based settings. The position requires consistent participant interaction, collaboration with providers and agencies, and detailed documentation to ensure services align with participant goals, regulatory requirements, and funding authorizations.
 
Key Responsibilities: 
This role ensures timely, compliant, and person-centered service coordination for assigned participants. The Service Coordinator independently manages caseload responsibilities while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to promote participant well-being, independence, and continuity of care.
 
Secondary Duties:

<li>Support quality assurance activities and internal reviews</li>
<li>Participate in professional development and continuing education</li>
<li>Represent PA Health Management in community and partner interactions as assigned</li>
</ul>
Tasks: 
<ul>
<li>Conduct person-centered assessments and level-of-care evaluations at least annually</li>
<li>Develop, implement, and update individualized service plans at least quarterly or as needed</li>
<li>Assist participants in identifying and accessing authorized waiver, medical, and social services</li>
<li>Coordinate services with healthcare providers, community agencies, and government entities</li>
<li>Monitor participant needs, outcomes, and service effectiveness</li>
<li>Conduct required face-to-face participant visits and routine telephone contacts</li>
<li>Advocate for participant needs and promote independence and quality of life</li>
<li>Enter all required documentation accurately and within established timelines</li>
<li>Participate in meetings, trainings, and interdisciplinary coordination activities</li>
</ul>

Maintains strict confidentiality of participant, family, and organizational information in accordance with HIPAA, privacy laws, and PA Health Management policies.
 
Documentation Requirements:

<li>Participant assessments and evaluations</li>
<li>Individualized service plans and revisions</li>
<li>Visit notes and service coordination records</li>
<li>Compliance and regulatory documentation completed within required timeframes</li>
</ul>
Education: 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field required</li>
<li>Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered</li>
</ul>
Experience: 
<ul>
<li>Minimum of three (3) years of experience in service coordination, case management, or a related human services role preferred</li>
<li>Experience working with waiver-funded or I/DD populations strongly preferred</li>
</ul>
Technical Skills: 
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams. Ability to work within multiple electronic documentation and data systems. Strong data entry, record-keeping, and administrative accuracy
 
Languages: 
Fluency in English is required.
 
Driver License: 
Valid driver’s license required. Reliable transportation required for regional travel.
 
Travel Requirement: 
Regular travel required within a designated regional area. In-person attendance required for meetings, trainings, and team events as scheduled.
