 The Sterile Processing Technician II acts as a clinical resource for staff and participates in the orientation, coaching and mentoring process of new employees and staff as well as participates in departmental improvement activities. The Sterile Processing Technician II will provide quality processed instrumentation, materials and equipment for patient care. The main functions of this position include: demonstrating knowledge and proper cleaning / care, handling, assembly, and sterilization of equipment and supplies based on IFUs, AAMI best practice standards, and regulatory requirements; team work participation with staff members; achieving the turn-around plans / priority processing; and maintaining a clean work environment within the department.
 
 
 Education:
 
 Sterile Processing Certification required. High School education or GED required; Surgical Technician, Licensed Practical Nurse or other relevant clinical surgical experience i.e. Certified Ophthalmology Assistance etc. preferred.
 
 
 Experience:

CSP also provides disposable medical supplies to the perioperative areas via surgical case carts.

 Performs sterilization and decontamination procedures to ensure quality Instrumentation is provided for patient care. Maintains supplies and equipment for use in patient care. Monitors inventory to ensure that patient needs are met. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

 Minimum Education / Licensure / Certifications:

 High school graduate or equivalent

 Able to communicate in English fluently (written and verbal).
 </li>
 <li>
 Certified central service technician or certification acquired with in one year.
 </li>
 <li>
 Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 Minimum Experience:

 <li>
 Certified technician.
 </li>
 <li>
 Desired: 1 year experience as a sterile processing technician.
