Our FIT team provides intensive substance abuse therapy, mental health therapy and case management services to parents involved with the Florida Department of Children and Families.
Overview:
Primary duty is the performance of work requiring advanced knowledge (Master&rsquo;s degree) in the field of Human Services, and to use such advanced knowledge to consistently exercise discretion and independent judgment in providing the highest quality client-centered therapeutic services. Must also use such advanced knowledge to serve as a consultant and mentor to Bachelor&rsquo;s Level Direct Care employees and Behavioral Technicians, among other staff. This position is entrusted with a high level of responsibility and insight in treating clients and ensuring services are provided and documented in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, in addition to LCI and division standards. Based on the knowledge and degree required, this position will serve as a lead position in the provision of direct care.
Therapeutic services include but are not limited to, assessment, treatment planning, direct service provision, person centered services and management of client risk and safety.
Requirements:<ul>
<li>Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, rehabilitation, or a related human services field (a related human services field is one in which major course work includes the study of human behavior and development).</li>
<li>Requires at least two (2) years&rsquo; experience working with adults who have mental health, substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities.</li>
<li>Prefer individuals certified through the Florida Certification Board as an Addiction Professional.</li>
<li>Must be able to provide individualized, integrated mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring services to meet the needs of individuals served and their families.</li>
<li>Must be able to use a computer.</li>
<li>Must be able to travel locally to clients' homes, training locations and other locations as necessary.</li>
<li>Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.</li>
<li>Must possess a valid driver&rsquo;s license from the state in which you reside, a good driving record and be insurable under the corporate policy.</li></ul>
Compensation:
The base pay range for this position is $49,056 - $52,890 per year based on experience; with an additional supplemental pay (up to 8% of base pay) for FIT team members.

Essential Duties:

RPP Case Managers work out of local DCF Family Services offices to improve the well-being and permanency outcomes of children affected by parental substance misuse. 
 
In close collaboration with DCF staff, RPP Case Managers play a vital role at the front end of child protection, screening for problematic substance use, linking parents to appropriate treatment services, and addressing barriers to successful engagement. By increasing access to and participation in treatment, RPP Case Managers provide support at the individual level and across the broader care system, ensuring families receive the help they need to thrive. 
 
This role conducts substance use screenings, coordinates referrals to assessment and treatment providers, and fosters treatment engagement by addressing transportation, childcare, or stigma barriers. Case managers provide consultation and training to DCF staff on substance use and treatment services while liaising between the treatment system and DCF Family Services. Services are delivered in various settings, including DCF offices, community spaces, and caregivers&rsquo; homes, ensuring that families receive support where they need it most.

Your Job as a Substance Use Counselor:
The Substance Use Counselor is instrumental in our patient&rsquo;s treatment and recovery from opioid use disorder. Substance Use Counselors provide high quality, compassionate care through various mediums which include both individual and group counseling sessions. 
Job Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Provide high quality, compassionate guidance in both individual and group counseling sessions.</li><li>
Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient's recovery.</li><li>
Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions as needed.</li><li>
Ensure all documentation regarding patient care, treatment, and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner.</li><li>
Prepare individual treatment plans for each assigned patient.</li><li>
Initial assessments as well as follow up assessments.</li><li>
Evaluate patient needs and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are needed.</li><li>
May plan for aftercare for assigned patients.</li><li>
Provide crisis intervention to patients, as needed.</li><li>
Provide case management duties for patients, ensuring individualized quality care as needed.</li><li>

Qualifications:

Required Education:</div><ul><li>
Master&rsquo;s Degree in a relevant field is required, or one of the following credentials: CAC, CAS, CADC, CRC, LADC I, LADC II, LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT.</li><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree holders without credentials are encouraged to apply if they are committed to obtaining required credentials within 30-60 days of employment.</li><li>

Your Skills &amp; Experience:</div><ul><li><div>
Previous experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings, such as outpatient, residential, or correctional facilities.</div></li><li><div>
Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.</div></li><li><div>
Experience conducting individual and group counseling sessions focused on substance use recovery.</div></li><li><div>
Knowledge of evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and relapse prevention techniques.</div></li><li><div>
Documentation experience, including maintaining clinical notes, treatment plans, and progress updates in accordance with state and federal guidelines.</div></li><li><div>
Familiarity with state regulatory standards (e.g., 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, Joint Commission standards).</div></li><li><div>
Experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary team with medical staff, case managers, and peer support specialists.</div></li></ul><div>
Licenses/Certifications:</div><ul><li>
