Duties &amp; Responsibilities
<ul><li>Detail engineering and design of substation projects from conceptual design through construction from 4kV to 345kV</li>
<li>Detail relaying, protection, and controls engineering and design</li>
<li>Detail structural foundation and civil site engineering and design</li>
<li>Create/modify design documents and drawings for a project, including specifications, technical reports to support design as required by permitting agencies, and generating bills of material</li>
<li>Effectively communicate and coordinate project activities with manager, clients, and others as needed</li>
<li>Prepare scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensure that schedules and budgets are met</li>
<li>Take on a project engineer and/or project manager role as required</li>
</ul>
Requirements
<ul><li>4-year degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical or Civil Engineering; master&rsquo;s degree for this position is highly undesired
</li><li>Current EIT License in the State of Texas or ability to obtain the license within 12 months of hire (preferred)</li>
<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communications skills</li>
<li>Ability to work closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design package and requirements</li>
<li>Ability to travel</li>
<li>Take personal responsibility and ownership for the quality and accuracy of work product</li>
<li>Proficiency using AutoCAD or MicroStation and Microsoft Office Suite</li>
<li>Self-starter</li>
<li>Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects</li>

Job Summary:
The Substation Engineering Manager leads and manages a cohesive team of substation design professionals, including drafters, designers, and engineers. The Manager is responsible for the successful day-to-day operations of the department as well as business planning, strategy execution, and internal collaboration across various groups and stakeholders to achieve the overall goals and objectives of the company. Additional responsibilities include activities such as business development, client relationship management, participation in technical work and tasks as needed, recruiting, and industry engagement.

Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree (Electrical Engineering preferred) from an ABET-accredited university.</li>
<li>10+ years of experience in substation engineering design</li>
