A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FLEET SUPERINTENDENT</b></p><p>
Leads and manages the daily activities of the Fleet Division of the Engineering and Public Works Department. Ensures all work is conducted according to City and department policy, codes and standards of quality. The incumbent must be able to perform work within a broad framework of general policy, exercising broad judgment in defining work objectives and determining methods and systems to meet objectives. Supervises subordinates including mechanics and administrative personnel. Performs related work as required. Reports to the Deputy Director of Engineering and Public Works.</p><p><b>
Essential Functions:</b></p><ul><li>
Provides leadership to develop a culture of continuous improvement. Develops and manages the division budget. Sets high standards for customer service through timely and considerate delivery of services to clients and to vendors.
</li><li>Uses the City's fleet management software systems to manage and track fleet inventory, repair history, parts, fuel usage, etc.</li><li>
Refines the City's fleet management software system to develop a reliable fleet replacement program based on factors including, but not limited to, age, repair costs over time, appropriateness of use, etc.
</li><li>Directs and leads mechanics and shop foreman; supervisory duties include instructing; assigning, reviewing and planning work of others staff; maintaining standards; coordinating activities; allocating personnel; acting on employee problems; and recommending employee discipline as appropriate.</li><li>
Reviews work of subordinates for completeness, accuracy and adherence to policies and standards; evaluates performance and offers advice and assistance as needed.</li><li>
Develops and monitors division budget; solicits, recommend and manages contracts, manages the ordering of supplies, parts and equipment; ensures purchases do not exceed annual budget allocations. Attends City Council meetings as needed.</li><li>
Schedules current and long-range work projects for the division and ensures the good value through the allocation of equipment, materials and personnel to accomplish projects; estimates the cost of materials and labor for each project.</li><li>
Manages the City's Motor Pool Program and vehicle lifecycle and replacement plans</li><li>
Develops and implements program to ensure solid communications with clients about work status.</li><li>
Develops and implements program for implementation of a service loaner pool so that clients with vehicles downed for repairs will have alternate means of transportation.</li><li>
Manages the fleet maintenance shop, performing such duties as scheduling routine maintenance and major and minor repair work; obtaining price quotes for service and repair work; processing state vehicle inspections, etc.</li><li>
Inspects work in progress and at completion to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, City ordinances, and safety rules and regulations.</li><li>
Oversees shop maintenance, and fuel system infrastructure maintenance.</li><li>

<p></p><div><div><div><p>The Superintendent CWI is responsible for the execution of well programs (drilling, completion, workover) to ensure that operations are performed in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner. The Superintendent CWI is the focal point for the Wellsite Supervisor for reviewing daily operations and program changes. They act as focal point of communications between rig or well-site, Product Lines, and Third Parties and ensure resources are deployed efficiently.
</p><ul><li>Drive improvement of HSE processes through identifying and implementing action plans, which includes monitoring and recording project execution results, and recommending performance changes to improve project delivery, and auditing is performed regularly to ensure there is a continuous feedback loop.</li><li>

This position will be responsible for providing on-site coordination for all phases of construction projects including coordinating subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. The Site Superintendent will oversee project completion to ensure client expectations are met. This position will work to build a successful internal team and lasting relationships with owners, subcontractors, and clients. The Site Superintendent will coordinate site activities and serve as a problem solver to ensure projects are completed to a high standard.

<b>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</b><br>
<ul>
<li>Effectively coordinate and facilitate onsite construction activities.</li>
<li>Successfully distribute workload and manage an effective team.</li>
<li>Accurately create RFIs and submittal reviews through Procore.</li>
<li>Efficiently report and solve construction and site problems in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Ensure specifications and policies are followed to guarantee a safe work environment and project codes are met.</li>
<li>Successfully create and follow a project budget.</li>
<li>Effectively coordinate with other disciplines as needed.</li>
<li>Professionally provide proactive communication between internal team, architectural engineers, subcontractors, owners, and clients.</li>
