Assistant Superintendent

Summary/Objective 


The Assistant Superintendent&rsquo;s primary responsibility is to support the Superintendent and Project Manager in the successful completion of assigned projects. The Assistant Superintendent participates in overseeing job site safety, quality, project scheduling, and communications with the architect and consultants on field and constructability issues. This position requires regular travel to project sites. 


Primary Job Responsibilities

<ul><li> Assist Superintendent with managing job site safety, quality, and schedule for assigned projects from pre-construction to closeout.</li></ul>

<ul><li> Work collaboratively with Project Superintendent, Project Manager, project team members, Design Consultants, and Owner.</li></ul>

Trips back home are worked in from the best business perspective and do not interfere with project requirements.</li></ul> 


Other Responsibilities
<ul><li> Assist in managing the field and project team successfully and collaboratively.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships and communication with client, Construction Manager, project team, consultants/architect/engineers, subcontractors, adjacent community, trade unions, governmental agencies.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Assist with setting up job site logistics, field coordination, and project schedule.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Participate in the review of all project documents for constructability and content, including shop drawings.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Maintain and update project records including RFI&rsquo;s, ASI&rsquo;s and as-builts.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Assist with creating and enforcing a site-specific emergency action plan for assigned projects in collaboration with the Project Manager or Superintendent.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Coordinate subcontractors.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Coordinate with building inspections, subcontractor inspections, and agencies.</li></ul>
<ul><li> In collaboration with the Superintendent perform daily job site walks and submit daily safety audit reports, daily production and manpower reports.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Conduct and/or attend Forman meetings, pre-task meetings, safety meetings and project staff meetings.</li></ul>

JOB TITLE: SUPERINTENDENT - CONSTRUCTION (SCAFFOLDING) 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li> Preparation of the project scaffolding plan, manpower, and equipment forecasts. Barton Malow is seeking an Electrical Superintendent to support solar and wind projects throughout the Great Lakes Region as part of our Renewable Energy Team. This role reports to our teams in Southfield, MI and Grandville, MI. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4+ years of experience in electrical construction with a strong background in utility-scale renewable energy systems. This individual will be responsible for leading field operations, supervising electrical crews, and ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient project execution.</div>

</div><div>This is a traveling position that requires working onsite full-time at project locations. Candidates must be willing and able to travel extensively and be physically present on the jobsite for the duration of assigned projects.</div><div></div><div> 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:</div>
<ul>
<li>Provide leadership for all electrical construction activities on assigned renewable energy projects.</li>
<li>Enforce jobsite safety for all electrical personnel and subcontractors in accordance with company policies and national safety standards.</li>
<li>Supervise and coordinate daily activities of electrical crews and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project schedules and milestones.</li>
<li>Ensure all electrical installations meet project quality standards and are completed in compliance with design documents, codes, and client requirements.</li>
<li>Lead field-level planning, including short-term scheduling, work sequencing, and resource allocation.</li>
<li>Collaborate with project management, engineering, and subcontractors to resolve field issues and maintain productivity.</li>
<li>Review and support electrical submittals, drawings, and installation plans to ensure constructability and compliance.</li>
<li>Monitor and support electrical scope productivity, costs, and material usage in coordination with project leadership.</li>
<li>Coordinate material deliveries and ensure timely availability of equipment and resources onsite.</li>
<li>Support QA/QC processes, inspections, and turnover documentation including O&amp;M manuals.</li>
<li>Participate in BIM coordination efforts and assist in resolving clashes across trades.</li>
<li>Maintain clear communication with clients, inspectors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success and client satisfaction.</li>
<li>Mentor and provide direction to field personnel to support development and performance.</li>
<li>Support company initiatives and contribute to a positive, team-oriented jobsite culture.</li></ul> 
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a related field or equivalent field experience required.</li>
<li>Minimum 4+ years of experience in electrical construction, with field supervision experience strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Proven experience with utility-scale renewable energy projects (solar and/or wind) is highly preferred.</li>
<li>Strong working knowledge of power distribution systems, electrical installations, and construction practices.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to lead crews, subcontractors, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams onsite.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, construction drawings, and turnover procedures.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.</li>
<li>Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.</li>
<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office, BIM360, and Bluebeam.</li>
<li>OSHA 15- or 30-Hour Certification required.</li>
<li>Must be willing to travel and work onsite full-time at project locations.</li></ul>
