<li>Meeting regularly with treatment programs to review video incidents</li>
<li>Participating in the Situation Management and Response Techniques (SMART) Committee to provide information about trends and data from watching video of the application of SMART techniques.</li>

The APS Professional Education Program reimburses eligible staff for the cost of tuition and fees up to $10,500 per fiscal year. </p><p>Business-related travel is reimbursed at the state-approved mileage rate and according to DFPS policy.</p><p>
APS Investigator Specialists are mobile caseworkers. Mobile casework is not the same as working from home. APS Investigator Specialists spend the majority of their workday &ldquo;in the field&rdquo; conducting home visits to interview clients and alleged perpetrators. Although each workday may begin and end at home, APS Investigator Specialists are expected to be in the field making visits and engaging the community every day.
</p><p>This role requires frequent travel to homes and offices both within and outside your assigned region. Reliable transportation and a strong willingness to travel are essential, as you can expect to be on the road about 60% of the time. While much of your travel will be local, there will be instances&mdash;including last-minute situations&mdash;where you&rsquo;ll need to go outside your assigned counties, sometimes with little notice. Some overnight travel is also required, especially during initial training held outside your area and as cases demand. Flexibility is critical, as our mission to protect the most vulnerable means you must be ready to serve clients wherever and whenever you are needed.</p><p></p><p><br>

<div><div><div><p>Position Overview</p>
<p>South Plains Community Action Association (SPCAA) is seeking a detail-oriented and highly ethical Fraud Investigator to support the integrity of our Child Care Services (CCS) program. This role is responsible for investigating allegations of fraud, waste, and abuse involving program participants and childcare providers while ensuring compliance with Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and federal CCDF regulations.</p>
<p>This position operates independently from eligibility and case management functions to ensure unbiased investigative outcomes.</p>
<p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p>
<ul><li>Conduct investigations related to fraud, waste, and abuse</li>
<li>Review financial, eligibility, and attendance documentation</li>
<li>Interview clients, providers, employers, and third parties</li>
<li>Document findings and maintain cases in PIRTS</li>
<li>Prepare investigative reports and support enforcement actions</li>
<li>Conduct onsite and unannounced provider visits</li>
<li>Support audits, monitoring reviews, and improper payment recovery</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Minimum Qualifications (Screening Requirements)</b></p>
<ul><li>Associate&rsquo;s degree required in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Social Services, or related field</li>
<li>3&ndash;5 years of experience in:</li>
<li>Fraud investigation, OR</li>
<li>Compliance, auditing, OR</li>
<li>Public benefits/program integrity</li>
<li>Valid Texas Driver&rsquo;s License</li>
<li>Ability to pass background check and complete required fraud/PIRTS training</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></p>
<ul><li>Experience with TWC programs or public assistance programs</li>
<li>Knowledge of fraud detection tools and investigative techniques</li>
<li>Experience conducting interviews and writing investigative reports</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Key Skills</b></p>
<ul><li>Strong analytical and investigative skills</li>
<li>Ability to interpret policy and apply regulations</li>
<li>Excellent written documentation and reporting skills</li>
<li>High level of confidentiality and ethical standards</li>

<ul><li>Office-based position (not remote)</li>
<li>Regional travel required, including field investigations</li>
<li>Occasional non-traditional hours for investigations</li>
