Essential Job Functions</div>

Coordinate and schedule surgical cases, prepare consents, and maintain surgical block schedules to ensure efficient operating room utilization.</li><li>
Communicate with surgeons&rsquo; offices to verify patient records, CPT codes, and procedural details; proactively coordinate and communicate schedule changes with appropriate departments and staff to optimize room and equipment usage.</li><li>
Verify patient insurance coverage and registration information; obtain pre-authorizations and approvals; communicate with insurance carriers; and prepare accurate good faith estimates.</li><li>
Maintain effective working relationships with physicians, leadership, and staff across the Medical Center; collaborate with UCM entities to gather information, resolve issues, support projects, and fulfill committee or departmental assignments as directed.</li><li>

Procedural Scheduler - Orthopedic Surgery

Interventional pain management practice in Austin, Kyle, San Marcos, and Dripping Springs TX seeks a talented Surgery Scheduler Coordinator. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgery Scheduler Coordinator to join our medical team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating surgical appointments, ensuring that all necessary information is collected and communicated effectively between patients and healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical office setting and possess strong administrative skills to facilitate smooth scheduling processes.Duties<ul><li>Schedule surgical procedures by coordinating with surgeons, patients, and other medical staff.</li><li>Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history.</li><li>Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient data.</li><li>Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic or Meditech for scheduling and documentation.</li><li>Communicate effectively with patients regarding pre-operative instructions and appointment confirmations.</li><li>Manage front desk operations, including answering phone calls and addressing patient inquiries.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of scheduled surgeries and follow up on any changes or cancellations.</li><li>Assist in the management of office operations to ensure a smooth workflow within the surgical department.</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Proven experience in medical office management or a similar role is preferred.</li><li>Familiarity with Medicare processes and medical coding is advantageous.</li><li>Proficiency in 10 key typing to efficiently manage data entry tasks.</li><li>Previous experience in a pain management office setting will be beneficial but not required.</li><li>Strong understanding of office management practices and procedures.</li><li>Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.</li></ul>If you are passionate about providing exceptional service in a healthcare environment and possess the necessary skills, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position as a Surgery Scheduler.
