</p><p>11. Assist staff in gowning and gloving for procedures.

<ul><li>Transports patients as directed, maintaining a conscious regard for their comfort and safety. Assists nurse in patient care by lifting and positioning patients. May assist with other patient care tasks, as directed, (i.e. preps).</li></ul>
<ul><li>Provides assistance to nursing staff during patient admission/discharge by anticipating needs, i.e. infusion pumps, Baer Hugger, PCA/Epidural pumps, monitors, oxygen tanks, setting up stretchers/beds with oxygen tank and mask, IV pole, pillow, blanket. Transports patients to and from inpatient units with assistance or independently.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Accompanies outpatients to lobby and waits with then until their transportation arrives. Assists them into their vehicle (PACU only). Transports patients to other parts of the hospital as required. Picks up and delivers medications/specimens as directed. Obtains or returns blood products to/from Blood Bank as directed.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Cleans patients&rsquo; equipment including: monitors, cables and specialty equipment. Assists in manpower support for moves, special set-ups and any other occasion when a larger than normal group is needed. Restocking of supplies on unit including bedside cards, infusion, epidural, and PCA pumps from the distribution center. Stocks warmers with blankets, solutions. Stocks pods, cleaning supplies.</li></ul>

Provide high quality surgical and perioperative care to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician within the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery service.

Performs comprehensive patient evaluations including history and physical examinations for surgical consultations, preoperative assessments, and postoperative care.</li><li>

Provides outpatient clinic care including new patient consultations, postoperative follow-up visits, and management of surgical complications.</li><li>
Participates in call coverage for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery service, responding to urgent consultations, emergency department evaluations, and inpatient issues under physician supervision.</li><li>
Maintains accurate, complete, and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.</li><li>
Provides patient and family education regarding surgical procedures, postoperative care, medications, and recovery expectations.</li><li>
Coordinates care with multidisciplinary teams including nursing staff, anesthesia providers, hospitalists, and other specialty services to ensure continuity of care.</li><li>
Demonstrates proficiency in surgical and procedural skills appropriate to the specialty.</li><li>
Participates in quality improvement initiatives, clinical education, and service line development as appropriate.</li><li>
Maintains a safe and compliant work environment by adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and infection control standards.</li><li>
Delivers exemplary patient-centered care to ensure a positive patient experience across the organization.</li><li>
Performs other duties assigned by supervising physicians or management.</li></ul><p><b>

Base salary range - $120k-$140k commensurate with experience</li><li>

Masters Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.</li><li>
1-2 years experience as a Physician Assistant in a surgical specialty, acute care, or hospital-based setting preferred.</li><li>
Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant by the State of New York.</li><li>
Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)</li><li>
BLS required.</li><li>
Specialized knowledge/skills:<ul><li>
Surgical anatomy, perioperative care, and operating room protocols.</li><li>
Ability to function as a surgical first or second assist during operative procedures.</li><li>
Strong clinical skills in evaluating surgical patients and managing perioperative conditions.</li><li>
Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and healthcare technology.</li><li>
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and interdisciplinary collaboration.</li><li>
