Nova Supports is looking for a Lifeguard to join our team, working in a day clinic for adults, teens, and children with autism. Nova Supports provides ABA therapy to individuals with autism, and we are currently creating a swim program to teach water safety to individuals with disabilities! Our mission is to provide COMPETENT and COMPASSIONATE care to everyone.<h4 class="jobSectionHeader">
Position Overview</h4>
Compensation: $20-$23/hour once certified 
Schedule: 3pm-7pm Monday - Friday
Are you passionate about swimming? We are hiring swimming experts we can train to become a Registered Behavior Technician. This role is especially important because individuals with autism are significantly more likely to drown than the general population. Teaching water safety is a vital part of our mission. Our clinic has an indoor swimming pool we use for these water safety lessons.
This is a dual-role position that includes:<ul><li>
Providing 1:1 ABA therapy in the clinic under the supervision of a BCBA</li><li>
Leading swim lessons and water safety activities for children and adults with autism</li><li>
Supporting behavior goals, daily routines, and learning activities</li><li>
Collaborating with a team to ensure client progress and safety</li><li>
Supporting the lead swim teacher with administrative tasks</li></ul>
Qualifications<ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent (required)</li><li>
Experience as a swim instructor or lifeguard</li><li>
Lifeguard certification</li><li>
Willingness to complete the 40-hour RBT training program (paid training)</li><li>
Passing the RBT competency assessment and obtaining certification within the required timeframe</li><li>
Ability to pass a background check</li><li>
Reliable, compassionate, and dedicated to helping individuals with autism</li></ul><h4 class="jobSectionHeader">

Reports to: General Manager 
 
Summary: Oversees the quality and success of Goldfish Swim School. This encompasses all daily operations including safety, staffing, pool operations, swim lesson quality, customer service, and workplace employee activities amongst other duties. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 
1. Directs and controls the daily operations to ensure the school is running according to GSS standard operating procedures. 
2. Helps the General Manager and department managers fulfill all daily tasks. 
3. Manages the staff of GSS to ensure high productivity, excellent performance and positive employee satisfaction. 
4. Initiates and oversees workplace employee activities with the goal of achieving improved employee satisfaction. 
5. Trains and oversees the aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction to the students of GSS. 
6. Interacts with all wet side staff on issues related to class scheduling, student progress, customer service, employee 
performance and training. 
7. Troubleshoot the mechanical room as necessary. 
8. Gains a high level of knowledge and experience in the GSS pool operations necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment. 
9. Development of wet side staff. 
10. Ensures the highest level of swim lesson quality. 
11. Directs, trains, maintains and oversees the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures 
that pertain to the GSS facility and EAP. 
12. Maintains current certifications and stays up-to-date professionally on the aquatics and management field. 
 
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED is preferred. Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider required. Two or more years as a swimming instructor preferred. 
 
Work Environment: While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
