Description 
 
Ownership of SerDes system bring-up, validation and debug. This will involve a SerDes bring up in system environment, verifying basic operations, analyzing robustness and margins in system. 
 
Work with design teams to understand the architecture and define DFT needs to help enhance testability and first-time silicon success. 
 
Be involved in mixed-signal verification tasks to better understand the SerDes operation and interaction with higher level control logic. 
 
Preferred Qualifications 
 
Able to think outside of the box and come up with creative solutions for system validation. 
 
Knowledge of system level considerations e.g. ESD requirements. 
 
Very knowledgeable about and experienced with common high-speed SerDes protocols (e.g., PCIe, USB, UCIe, OIF, etc.). 
 
Experience with system bring-up of high-speed serial links, lab testing, and defining equipment needs. 
 
Very knowledgeable in scripting (e.g. python, C, Matlab) for automation of validation efforts. 
 
Experience with system level S/W setup. 
 
Experience in mixed-signal circuit pre-silicon verification and ability to closely work with circuit design team. 
 
Knowledge of DFT to aid in the system validation. 
 
Experience in leading mixed-signal SerDes system validation. 
 
Experience with silicon bring-up, debug and production ramp. 
 
Knowledge of SerDes design and architecture including CDR and equalization. 
 
Knowledge of with Tx/Rx equalization techniques and adaptation. 
 
Knowledge of link jitter budget for high-speed serial links and key block level requirements.

The estimated base salary range for the Validation Engineer 2 role based in the United States of America is: $74,900 - $112,300. Position: Mechanical Validation Engineer

What you will do: 
<ul>
<li>Develop and execute detailed mechanical validation test plans for wearables, covering different areas of lifecycle testing.</li>
<li>Define validation scope, objectives, and deliverables for each product phase (from prototype to production).</li>
<li>Set up and maintain test fixtures, equipment, and prototype devices for validation activities.</li>
<li>Work with design, hardware, and manufacturing teams to align on validation requirements and schedules.</li>
<li>Participate in design reviews, provide feedback on mechanical robustness, and suggest design improvements based on test results.</li>
<li>Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to identify failure modes and root causes.</li>
<li>Document and communicate test results, issues, and recommendations to stakeholders.</li>
<li>Maintain comprehensive validation documentation and dashboards (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).</li>
<li>Drive resolution of mechanical issues by collaborating with engineering teams during validation phases.</li>
<li>Proactively unblock teams and adjust focus areas to ensure timely issue closure.</li>
<li>Contribute to process improvements in validation methodologies, test automation, and lab infrastructure.</li>
<li>Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in mechanical validation for wearables.</li>
</ul>
What You Will Bring: 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.</li>
<li>3+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical validation or testing, preferably in consumer electronics or wearables.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of mechanical test methods (drop, shock, vibration, thermal, humidity, IP, etc.).</li>
<li>Experience with test equipment, data acquisition systems, and failure analysis.</li>
<li>Familiarity with product development cycles (proto to PVT) and cross-functional project execution.</li>
<li>Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.</li>
<li>Experience with risk management and process improvement.</li>
</ul>
