We are looking for an experienced tax professional to join our Indirect Tax team where you will advise clients on VAT treatment of new and complex transactions and help resolve classification or other disputes and issues with the authorities. 
Your key responsibilities 
You are expected to work effectively as a member of a regional network of professional advisors, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress. You will also collaborate with a team of VAT professionals to combine diverse cross-border transaction experience with local tax knowledge across a broad spectrum of industries in both an outbound and in-bound investment capacity. You will be assisting in preparing reports and schedules that will be delivered to clients and other parties and maintaining productive working relationships with them
You will also be expected to build a deep understanding of the Customs Law and its practical application across countries, especially on topics such as regional free trade agreements and key customs concepts such as valuation, classification, and origin. 
Skills and attributes for success 
You should be able to build strong client relationships &amp; excellently communicate in a range of situations in both written and oral English. You should also be able to identify areas of risk, carry out an effective review and know when to escalate issues upwards. You are expected to be a client focused and commercially aware team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels. You must also possess project management skills, plan and prioritise work, and meet deadlines. 
Qualifications &amp; Experience:

A relevant professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CTA, ADIT or equivalent.</li><li>
At least 3 years of relevant experience as an Indirect Tax professional.</li><li>
Good working knowledge of customs advisory and VAT / GST fundamentals.</li><li>

 EY is seeking a Consultant to join our GCR team, where you will support complex engagements and contribute to the growth of our GCR practice.
 
 
 
 Your Key Responsibilities
 
 
 
 You will combine strong technical skills with practical commercial, legislative, and industry knowledge to assist in providing tax services. You will help manage our clients&rsquo; compliance and reporting needs. You will establish, maintain, and strengthen valued internal and external relationships and ensure that the services delivered to clients are of the highest quality.
 
 
 You will assist in the day-to-day management of client engagements, monitor progress and deliverables, put in place the necessary standardized processes, anticipate and identify risks, escalate issues as appropriate, and support performance-improvement solutions. You will work with high-performing teams and contribute to a positive learning culture, supporting junior team members in their development. You will also be responsible for ensuring adherence to our Tax Quality guidelines.

 Qualification And Experience

 A bachelor's degree with strong academic credentials in accounting, business, finance, taxation, or any related essential fields.
 </li>
 <li>
 MBA, master&rsquo;s or another related advanced degree and/or professional qualifications e.g. CA, CPA, ACCA, CTA, ADIT, or equivalent qualification.
 </li>
 <li>
 A very strong knowledge and minimum of 1-2 years of experience in domestic and international tax rules/regulations, developments, etc., ideally within a large professional services company or similar environment. A strong background in tax accounting and tax auditing, ideally within a large professional services company or similar environment.

</div>We are looking for an experienced tax professional to join our Indirect Tax team where you will advise clients on transaction tax matters across the GCC and MENA regions. The role involves conducting due diligence, ensuring VAT/GST compliance, and guiding clients on tax implications of business decisions.<div> 
</div><div>Your key responsibilities</div><div> 
</div><ul><li>Provide transaction tax advisory services to clients, including mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings focused in the GCC and MENA regions.</li><li>
Conduct due diligence reviews to identify tax risks and opportunities.</li><li>
Prepare and review tax compliance documentation related to entities involved in the transaction focused on GST/VAT and other indirect taxes.</li><li>
Collaborate with the tax and finance teams workstreams within the practice to deliver efficient tax outcomes and develop strong relationships within the overall tax practice.</li><li>
Assist the central tax team to help clients in understanding the tax implications of their business decisions.</li><li>
Develop knowledge of key GCC indirect taxes and stay updated on tax legislation and industry trends to provide informed advice.</li><li>
Mentor and train junior staff members in the Indirect tax advisory practices.</li></ul><div></div><div> 
Skills and attributes for success</div><div> 
</div><ul><li>2-4 years of experience in transaction tax advisory and due diligence, preferably within a Big 4 accounting firm specifically involving:</li><li><ul><li>
Structuring and advising on the direct or indirect tax implications of mergers and acquisitions.</li></ul></li><li><ul><li>
Conducting tax due diligence assessments and preparing reports for clients.</li></ul></li><li><ul><li>
Identifying and mitigating tax risks associated with transactions.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Proficient in tax research, understanding ERP system tax outputs and financial statement reports.</li><li>
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in teams.</li><li>
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>
Strong English written and speaking skills (ability to comprehend and read Arabic desirable but not required)
