<li>Follow school drills and sub protocol procedures in accordance with the Parent/Scholar Handbook and utilize the Handbook as a first point of reference.</li>
<li>Maintain a neat, clean, orderly, safe, and educationally-centered environment that demonstrates BA standards of excellence. BA staff take ownership of the campus and instill this in scholars daily.</li>
<li>Have flexibility in your schedule and show up on time to the places you are scheduled.</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with team members to ensure that you exude excellence in any responsibilities given (examples given, but not limited to: cafeteria duty, janitorial responsibilities, carline duty, dismissal duty, filing, substitute teaching, copy and/or distributing copies).</li>

<p><b>
Position Summary and Responsibilities</b></p>
<p>
Working out of their home in Texas, the Adjunct Teacher will direct instruction through managing online instructional programs. Through the use of the telephone, Internet and various curriculum tools in the electronic course, there will be extensive communication between the student and the teacher. The teacher will ensure that each student successfully completes state standards for promotion to the next grade level or to meet graduation requirements within four years of entering 9th grade.</p>
<p>
Compensation will be based on the specific course workload and number of enrolled students. They will be responsible for monitoring progress, evaluating work, running online instructional/tutorial sessions, providing academic guidance, and being the subject-matter expert for a caseload of middle/high school students. The adjunct teacher must be able to complete work-related responsibilities through a combination of regular office hours during the school day in conjunction with hours scheduled outside the normal school day. Through use of the telephone, Internet and various curriculum tools in the electronic course, the adjunct teacher will ensure that each student successfully completes the Texas Essential Knowledge and skills for the course. The adjunct will report to a member of the school&rsquo;s leadership team (Principal, AP, Master Teacher).</p>
<p>
The Adjunct Teacher will be responsible for the successful completion of the following tasks:</p>
<ul>
<li>Communicate with parents/learning coaches, students and other teachers via the phone, WebMail, asynchronous discussions, and synchronous &ldquo;conferencing&rdquo;;</li>
<li>Instruct students, monitor student work, provide feedback, and suggest instructional approaches and strategies;</li>
<li>Monitor completion of assignments in the given subject area;</li>
<li>Score assessments and projects in the given subject area;</li>
<li>Communicate with Advisory teachers and school counselors; report student issues and coordinate communication schedules;</li>
<li>Conduct online tutorial and instructional sessions for students (utilizing online conferencing software);</li>
<li>Develop a very detailed knowledge of the curriculum for which responsible (subject expert);</li>
<li>Provide struggling students (and parents) with alternate strategies and additional assistance;</li>
<li>Complete all required training sessions throughout the year; and</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Requirements:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Highly qualified and certified to teach<b> Health Science </b>in Texas (appropriate to grade level and subject responsibilities); ACP candidates are not eligible</li>
<li>Must hold a current (within the last 3 years) TxVSN approved Online Instructor&rsquo;s Training certificate or be prepared to obtain one immediately upon hire</li>
<li>Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite)</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills, both oral and written</li>
