 We are looking for a Tech Lead, Backend to lead the technical execution, micro-architecture and engineering excellence of backend platform services powering the core of the 1inch DeFi platform.
 
 
 This is a hands-on technical leadership role for an experienced backend engineer who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to guide a team in delivering high-quality software. <li>Champion a security-first and compliance-aware engineering posture, PCI DSS, PII handling, multi-tenant isolation, secrets management, and secure-by-default patterns are non-negotiable.</li>
<li>Set and uphold the organisation's standards for AI-assisted development, context engineering, prompt and instruction patterns, AI code review protocols, and safe-use boundaries (what can be AI-generated, what requires human design, what must never leave our boundary, and how AI-assisted changes are reviewed, attributed, and audited).</li>
<li>Own and evolve the internal AI tooling playbook, Cursor IDE, Claude Code, Codex CLI, and the next wave, including evaluation of emerging AI coding tools with adoption recommendations grounded in measured trade-offs across developer velocity, code quality, security posture, cost, and lock-in risk.</li>
<li>Measure the impact of AI-augmented engineering, establish baselines and track outcomes so adoption decisions are evidence-based, not anecdotal.</li>

Who you are

<li>10+ years of professional backend software development experience, with a track record of leading technical direction across complex, distributed systems serving production scale.</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience leading platform-building efforts end-to-end, from design through production rollout.</li>

Requirements:<ul><li>
Proven track record of leading and developing high performing teams. Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Data Science, Computer science or related field; Master&rsquo;s degree preferred</li><li>
10+ years of experience in both on-prem and cloud-based data warehousing and data marts, with at least 5 years focused on leadership of Snowflake warehousing team(s)</li><li>
Demonstrable hands-on experience with: Cloud data architectures: Snowflake, AWS S3, HVR at minimum. Multi-cloud experience preferred. Data governance and cataloging: including any of the following (preferred experience in multiple tools) Unity Catalog, Collibra, Atlan, AWS Glue Data Catalog.</li><li>
Hands on experience with Modern data warehousing: Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or equivalent. Programming: Python and/or SQL (production code, reusable libraries, tests). Pipeline orchestration: Airflow, Step Functions, dbt, or similar.</li><li>
Hands on experience with DevOps for data: Terraform/CloudFormation, CI/CD, monitoring, and runbook creation. AI Engineering: Snowflake Coretex, AWS Bedrock, etc.</li><li>
Understanding of data modeling, data quality, and secure data onboarding/governance. Experience with both batch and real-time data processing. Skills &amp; Tools: AWS (S3, Glue, Lake Formation, IAM), Snowflake, SQL, Python, dbt, Airflow, Step Functions, Terraform/CloudFormation, CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins), Observability (Dynatrace preferred, Datadog, Prometheus), Data governance &amp; security (Unity Catalog, Collibra, Atlan)</li></ul>
Core Competencies:<ul><li>
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills</li><li>
Experience with Spark, Snowflake or other big data frameworks</li><li>
AWS and/or Snowflake architect or developer certifications</li><li>
