ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Document Management
<ul><li>Participate in the design process and understand the architectural challenges presented by the design.</li>
<li>Conduct project field surveys to understand existing conditions and how they impact design.</li>
<li>Create high-performance, parametric architectural models that enable clear documentation of complex geometry and building elements.</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with the Project Architect on highly complex projects to create efficient and precise construction documents, with tasks including (but not limited to) set organization and the creation of plans, sections, elevations, schedules and details. On less complex projects, lead the construction documentation effort, assign tasks out to other project staff as necessary and ensure the submission of all required documents to permitting authorities.
</li><li>Understand how relevant building and accessibility codes work and be able to apply that knowledge to all projects.</li>
<li>Research, specify and document architectural elements and assemblies.</li>
<li>Ensure project deadlines are met and that work assigned is complete and correct.</li>
<li>On highly complex projects, participate in construction observation and administration as required, with tasks including but not limited to review of submittals and RFIs, the creation of construction observation reports and punch lists and the resolution of field issues. On less complex projects, lead the construction administration efforts and assign tasks to other project staff as necessary.
</li></ul>Coordination
<ul><li>Coordinate with all internal and external project stakeholders throughout the design, documentation and construction administration processes. This includes not only consultants, but specification writers, regulatory agencies, general contractors and select subcontractors (where appropriate and guided by general contractor).
</li><li>Facilitate internal drawing and code reviews with the PDR Technical Director, providing adequate time for team to respond to all comments.</li>
<li>Perform consultant drawing coordination with team, including consultant document reviews at project milestones.</li>

<ul><li>Keep open communication within the team and with the designated project lead.</li>
<li>Understand PDR standards, processes and documentation and mentor junior staff on them as well.</li>
<li>Assist team members in performing their own quality control and ensure everyone is conscious of their impact on project profitability and client satisfaction.</li>
<li>Learn about and be immersed in the world of interior design and architecture and encourage others to strive for a greater depth and breadth of their technical knowledge.

QUALIFICATIONS
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or Master&rsquo;s degree in Architecture or Interior Design from a CIDA or NCARB-accredited school.</li>
<li>3-8 years of relevant experience.</li>
<li>Registered Architect, Registered Interior Designer or currently seeking either.</li>
<li>Encouraged to participate in IIDA, AIA or other relevant professional organization.</li>
<li>Must be a self-starter and comfortable in an open and collaborative environment.</li>
<li>Proficiency in parametric modeling, visualization and graphic software.</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li>

Summary of the role:

The Technical Interior Designer is responsible for translating design concepts into detailed and accurate technical drawings and documentation for commercial, hospitality, and high-end residential projects, with a primary focus on AutoCAD-based production workflows. 
Key responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Develop and coordinate interior architectural layouts, including space planning, finishes, ceilings, walls, and fixed interior elements.</li>
<li>Translate conceptual designs into comprehensive and precise construction documentation.</li>
<li>Prepare detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD, including: Floor plans, Reflected ceiling plans (RCPs), Elevations and sections, Joinery and typical detail drawings.</li>
<li>Ensure proper layering, annotation standards, and drawing coordination across all AutoCAD deliverables.</li>
<li>Coordinate closely with architects and other disciplines to integrate interior solutions while maintaining the overall architectural intent.</li>
<li>Manage drawing revisions, updates, and version control throughout project phases.</li>
<li>Ensure all drawings comply with applicable building codes, authority regulations, and company standards.</li>
<li>Support material selection and ensure proper documentation of finishes, schedules, and specifications.</li>
<li>Assist in the preparation and review of BOQs, including quantity take-offs for finishes and fixed elements, ensuring alignment with issued drawings.</li>
<li>Provide technical clarification and guidance to site teams and subcontractors (e.g., contractors, MEP teams) to ensure proper execution.</li>
<li>Liaise with clients and stakeholders to address technical queries and ensure alignment with project requirements.</li>
<li>Monitor project progress and communicate updates on deliverables and timelines.</li>
<li>Stay updated on industry standards, materials, and construction methodologies relevant to interior design.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned by management.</li></ul> 


Qualifications

Education and Experience:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.</li>
<li>5&ndash;10 years of professional experience in technical interior design. 
</li>
<li>Proven experience delivering detailed drawing packages for high-end residential, commercial, or hospitality projects.</li>
<li>Strong portfolio demonstrating technical detailing and execution capabilities.</li></ul> 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
<ul>
<li>Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (minimum 5 years of hands-on experience on executed projects).</li>
<li>Strong understanding of drafting standards, detailing practices, and construction documentation workflows.</li>
<li>Experience working in non-BIM or hybrid CAD environments (Revit knowledge is a plus, not mandatory).</li>
<li>Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office; SketchUp is an advantage.</li>
<li>Solid knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction standards.</li>
<li>Strong coordination skills across multiple disciplines.</li>
<li>High attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.</li>
<li>Ability to resolve technical design and site-related challenges efficiently.</li>
<li>Effective communication and teamwork skills.</li></ul> 


Working conditions and Environment:

<li>The position is office based from New Cairo, Egypt.</li>
<li>The position has no international business travel requirements.</li></ul>
