The Engineer 4 of Attachment Engineering and Services reports to the Supervisor. Train/direct management and</div><p>
bargaining unit subordinates in developing service designs, system modifications, and attachment requirements for</p><p>
electric distribution, network, and streetlight systems. Oversee documentation, permitting, compliance, and agreement</p><p>
execution. Apply engineering principles to ensure safe, operable installations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Schedules,</p><p>
assigns, and coordinates the work of employees; facilitates and communicates activities and procedures with other</p><p>
areas, departments, and outside parties or agencies. Plans, designs, and directs layout modifications, alterations, and</p><p>
additions to attachments on electric distribution, network, and streetlighting systems. Prepares, reviews, and approves</p><p>
site locations, engineering designs, drawings, and calculations; applies engineering principles and provides engineering</p><p>
information, technical advice, and assistance to engineers, designers, customers, contractors, etc., as well as</p><p>
instructions to employees and problem-solving. Prepares, evaluates, and verifies reports and records in the preparation</p><p>
of the area budget, specifications, cost estimates, attachment agreements, permits, and agreements for project initiation</p><p>
and termination. Monitors agreement and licensee attachment construction for compliance with standards, policies,</p><p>
procedures, design engineering practices, and the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) guidelines. Conducts field</p><p>
visits to determine when construction changes are needed during a project; develops and issues corrective measures</p><p>
and actions. Stays informed about Division policies, industry trends, technical developments, requirements, and</p><p>
procedures related to attachments to the Division&rsquo;s electrical distribution facilities and street lighting systems. Operates</p><p>

What You Will Do:</b></p><p>
Guidehouse is seeking experts with experimental and/or theoretical experience developing new technologies or capabilities to provide Scientific Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to program managers at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in one or more of the following areas:</p><ul><li><p>
Quantum technology for computation, sensing, networking, or algorithms</p></li><li><p>
Photonic systems for imaging, sensing, or computation</p></li><li><p>
Physics including high-energy physics, accelerator physics, and device physics</p></li><li><p>
Chemistry including electrochemistry, biochemistry, and specialty chemicals</p></li><li><p>
Biology including biotechnology and bioengineering</p></li><li><p>
Advanced manufacturing/fabrication</p></li><li><p>
Materials science for manufacturing new structural or functional materials</p></li><li><p>
Complex systems and adaptive systems</p></li><li><p>
Novel sensing paradigms/architectures</p></li><li><p>
Nonconventional and alternative computing</p></li><li><p>
Generative AI, machine learning, or language model deployment</p></li><li><p>

As a part of our team, you&rsquo;ll serve as a strategic technical advisor advising on advanced government-funded research and development programs. You&rsquo;ll work with world-class scientists and engineers to provide strategic assessments of emerging technologies. You will maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assisting with the management of current programs, and facilitating the transition of program deliverables to DoD stakeholders.</p><p></p><p>
These roles require 5 days on client site in Arlington, VA.</p><p></p><p><b>
What You Will Need:</b></p><ul><li><p>
Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD &quot;SECRET&quot; security clearance; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of clearance prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE &quot;SECRET&quot; or higher-level clearance are preferred</p></li><li><p>
Master&rsquo;s degree in a STEM field</p></li><li><p>
THREE (3) or more years of active research or product development experience</p></li><li><p>
FIVE (5) or more years' experience in project management and/or as a technical liaison. Experience should include, but not be limited to:</p><ul><li><p>
Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar areas needed to broadly support the PM&rsquo;s portfolio</p></li><li><p>
Excellent communication skills - both written (to include PowerPoint) and oral</p></li><li><p>
Self-starter who is willing to both take the lead and provide support in a team role in a complex, fast-paced, cross-disciplinary work environment</p></li><li><p>
Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task and respond to quick turn-around requests</p></li><li><p>
Flexible and readily adaptable to change</p></li><li><p>
Doctorate degree may be used in lieu of FIVE (5) of the required years' experience</p></li></ul></li></ul><p></p><p><b>
