Role Summary: We are seeking an expert VAT Technology Consultant to spearhead the implementation of the UAE Federal Tax Authority&rsquo;s (FTA) E-invoicing mandate. You will be responsible for ensuring our core banking systems, ERPs, and procurement portals are seamlessly integrated with Accredited Service Providers (ASPs). Your goal is to ensure 100% compliance with the &quot;5-corner&quot; interoperability model while maintaining the bank's data residency and security standards.
Key Responsibilities<ul><li>
Gap Analysis &amp; Roadmap: Conduct a comprehensive impact assessment of the E-invoicing mandate on banking products (Retail, Corporate, Treasury) and internal procurement.</li><li>
ASP Selection &amp; Integration: Lead the technical evaluation and onboarding of FTA-Accredited Service Providers. Ensure the integration handles PINT AE XML formats.</li><li>
Data Mapping: Define the &quot;Data Dictionary&quot; for the bank. Map internal transaction codes to mandatory FTA fields (UUID, Digital Signatures, QR codes, and VAT breakdowns).</li><li>
Compliance Oversight: Ensure the bank meets the 14-day reporting deadline and implement protocols for reporting system failures to the FTA within 2 business days.</li><li>
Tax Advisory: Provide specific guidance on complex banking scenarios, such as &quot;Reverse Charge Mechanism&quot; (RCM) on foreign software licenses and &quot;Deemed Supplies.&quot;</li><li>
Data Residency: Collaborate with IT Security to ensure all e-invoice archiving (minimum 5 years) remains within UAE borders as per the Tax Procedures Law.</li></ul>
Technical Requirements (Banking IT Focus)<ul><li>
Tax Engine Knowledge: Experience with tax automation tools (e.g., Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, Vertex, or SAP Tax Compliance).</li><li>
Messaging Standards: Deep understanding of XML, JSON, and Peppol (UBL) messaging protocols.</li><li>
System Integration: Proven experience with API-led connectivity (REST/SOAP) between Core Banking Systems (e.g., Temenos, Finastra) and external tax gateways.</li><li>
Banking Domain Expertise: Understanding of the VAT treatment for financial services (Explicit fees vs. Implicit margins/Exemptions).</li><li>

 Trained and certified on Sirion Platform (Sirion L1, L2, L3 trained &amp; Certified, Sirion Certified CLM Specialist), At least 1-2 years of Sirion implementation experience for Global organizations.

 Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end CLM implementation projects, including facilitating client workshops, conducting stakeholder interviews, process mapping, solution designing, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.

 <li>
 Proven ability to manage project teams, coordinate deliverables, and mentor junior consultants.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with system integrations within CLM platforms (e.g., SSO, eSignature, ServiceNow, Salesforce)

 3 years&rsquo; experience in implementation of ERPs or tax software that include but not limited to experience with tax requirements for direct tax such as corporate income tax, operational transfer pricing, state income taxation and indirect tax such as sales &amp; use tax, VAT, GST, property tax, or withholding tax solutions including but not limited to using native Workday, INFOR and/or NetSuite functionality, ONESOURCE Indirect Determination, Vertex, Avalara, SOVOS, Taxware
 </li>
 <li>
 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in accounting, computer science or related field Workday, INFOR, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, ONESOURCE, Vertex, CPA, Enrolled Agent, or other technology related certification (either in process or able/willing to obtain)
 </li>
 <li>
 Travel up to 50% (While 50% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)
