Job Description:
Assists with safe and appropriate delegated patient care tasks under direct supervision of a RN. Provides person-centered care with sensitivity and respect in collaboration with other team members. The ED Tele Tech plays a vital dual role in supporting both clinical care and departmental operations within the Emergency Department. The Telemetry Technician maintains visual surveillance of monitor screens, identifies equipment malfunctions, and communicates urgent information to the appropriate clinical team members in a timely manner. In addition to telemetry duties, the Unit Clerk component supports efficient departmental workflow through accurate order transcription, message distribution, and coordination of communication between nursing staff, ancillary departments, patients, and families. Overview 
 
 
Kelemen 8 is a medical-surgical unit that cares for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses, illnesses and disease processes. North and South 8 have telemetry capabilities for our patients. Kelemen 8 has frequent admissions and discharges.
Kelemen 8 can accept a total of 77 patients. The North side houses 37 patients, and the South side houses 36 patients. There are two negative pressure rooms with an anti-room.
There is a pharmacist present on the unit to assist the RNs with medication questions/concerns. Multidisciplinary rounds occur every Monday through Friday. Rounds involve all aspects of the healthcare team, including the patient and family.
