The Alignment Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and correcting alignment and suspension issues to ensure proper vehicle handling and safety. This includes aligning wheels, axles, frames, and steering components using precision alignment equipment and performing related repairs as needed. The role also involves mounting and balancing tires, conducting vehicle inspections, and completing general service work. The technician utilizes specialized tools and equipment to restore proper alignment, maintain vehicle performance, and deliver quality service to every customer. The ideal candidate will be detailed driven, accountable, customer centric and a team player with a strong work ethic to contribute to the department goals and achieve results.<br>

</b></h2><div><ul><li>Aligns wheels, axles, frames, torsion bars, and steering mechanisms of automotive vehicles using alignment equipment and manufacturer specifications.

</li><li>Performs necessary repair and adjustment work based on diagnostic findings.
</li><li>Mounts and dismounts tires; balances wheels using a balancing machine and installs counterweights to ensure smooth operation.

<div><p>Colony Tire is currently seeking a full-time Automotive Mechanic to join our team! Our mechanics work for competitive, unlimited pay. Previous experience required. Mechanic must be able to diagnose and repair simple and complex automotive issues, and perform routine maintenance on passenger vehicles, as well as heavy equipment. Must hold a valid driver&rsquo;s license.</p>
<p><b>Summary:</b></p>
<p>Employee will be required to perform tire and auto-related service as well as other duties as assigned by the manager.</p>
<p><b>Qualifications:</b></p>
<p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the competencies and or ability required. <p><b>Essential Tasks and Responsibilities; </b><b><i>include, but not limited to</i></b><b>:</b></p>
<ul><li>Follow established procedures to inspect tires, wheels and vehicles before and after service</li>
<li>Document work performed accurately and according to company policy</li>
<li>Raise vehicles using hydraulic jacks and/or automotive lifts</li>
<li>Unbolt and re-bolt wheels from/to vehicles, using torque wrenches, lug wrenches and other hand and power tools. Mount and dismount tires onto wheels</li>
<li>Identify and inflate tires in accordance with manufacturer&rsquo;s specifications</li>
<li>Place wheels on balancing machines to determine counterweights required to balance wheels. Hammer required counterweights onto rims of wheels</li>
<li>Replace valve stems</li>
<li>Repair tires in accordance with industry accepted guidelines</li>
<li>Rotate tires on vehicles in accordance with manufacturer&rsquo;s recommendations</li>
<li>Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as but not limited to oil changes and lubrications</li>
<li>Pull vehicles in and out of shop safely</li>
<li>Evaluate vehicles and/or their components and systems by accepted diagnostic methods which may include any or all of the following; test driving vehicles; using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, computerized diagnostic devices, and their experience</li>
<li>Repair, reline, replace and adjust brakes</li>
<li>Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brakes, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas</li>
<li>Confer with customers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements</li>
<li>Troubleshoot, diagnose problems with, and make repairs to minor electrical systems.</li>
<li>Examine vehicles, compile estimates of repair costs, and secure customers&rsquo; approval to perform repairs</li>
<li>Repair or replace defective ball joint suspensions, wheel bearings or other suspension components</li>
<li>Complete State Inspections according to the outlined procedures</li>
<li>Repair and service air conditioning, heating, and engine-cooling systems</li>
<li>Repair, replace, or adjust defective fuel injectors, carburetor parts, gasoline filters</li>
<li>Repair, service, or replace transmission and/or parts and drive train components</li>
</ul><ul><li>Remove and replace defective mufflers and tailpipes</li>
<li>Disassemble, repair, and rebuild faulty assemblies such as steering systems, and linkages.</li>
<li>Complete front-end alignments and suspension system service</li>
</ul>
