ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES</b></div><ul><li>
Performs complex design investigation, analysis, feasibility studies and CAD design for new tools using customer supplied data.</li><li>
Assists Sales group with process development and vendor selection during quoting process.</li><li>
Review of designs from outside tooling vendors with an emphasis on GD&amp;T, cosmetic, and productivity requirements.</li><li>
Review of fixture designs with internal Engineering department to assist in the manufacturing feasibility of design.</li><li>
Typical tools designed for hard stamping, weld fixtures, assembly fixtures, brake tooling, inspection fixtures, etc.</li><li>
Studies specifications and confers with engineering and shop personnel to resolve or improve design issues related to material characteristics, dimensional tolerances, service requirements, manufacturing procedures, and costs of tool.</li><li>
Tracks progress of new and outsourced tooling with regular report outs to management.</li><li>
Performs Tooling runoffs at vendors using buyoff checklist to qualify tooling before shipping.</li><li>
Works with internal teams to resolve issues that may be related to quality, productivity, or process improvement.</li><li>
Coordinates in house PPAP trials and assists Tooling Department to ensure the production readiness of launched tooling.</li><li>
