I. Job Summary 
 
Safely operates a tractor-trailer or a straight truck with a pup trailer (or other vehicle requiring a Class A CDL) to perform assigned duties on designated routes. 
 
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
<ul><li>Operates vehicle in accordance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements as well as all local, state and federal requirements and Company expectations for the Fleet; maintains a clean and safe vehicle.</li><li>
Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using standard eDVIR (electronic Driver Vehicle Inspection Report); notes all issues on eDVIR form for corrective review/repair.</li><li>
Immediately reports any unsafe situations or unscheduled service calls to Operations Manager and Dispatch before attempting service.</li><li>
Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Operations Manager.</li><li>
Works closely with Operations Managers and Dispatch to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.</li><li>
Performs all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager and Dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed.</li><li>
Notifies Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage.</li><li>
Notifies Operations Manager and Dispatch of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers, services that cannot be completed, or problems that arise on the route.</li><li>
Communicates customer requests, issues, or service changes to Operations Manager and Dispatch.</li><li>
Completely dumps all containers and leaves the customer&rsquo;s location clean and free of debris.</li><li>
Positions containers on the customer&rsquo;s property in a manner that ensures containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic.</li><li>
Follows route assignments throughout the day and completes all documentation when checking-in at the end of the route.</li></ul> 
III. Qualifications

Position Purpose: 
 
As a Driver, Shuttle, you will play a vital role in the operation of our business by transporting empty trailers to the Operating Company warehouse locations and turn around and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations. The Driver, Shuttle drives a tandem trailer, tractor trailer and/or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes for the purpose of transporting empty trailers to the Operating Company warehouse locations. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:<ul><li>
Performs all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspects tractor/truck and trailer to insure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed.</li><li>
Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required.</li><li>
Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies. Immediately reports all safety hazards. Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.</li><li>

CrossCountry Freight Solutions is a leader in the LTL industry, and we are looking for a Shuttle Driver to join our dedicated team.
The Shuttle Driver is a hybrid role responsible for moving trailers and equipment both on Company property (approximately 85% of time) and to off-site locations via short-haul shuttle runs (approximately 15% of time). Primary duties include picking up and dropping off trailers at customer locations, intermodal facilities, drop yards, and partner carrier sites, as well as spotting and repositioning trailers within the service center yard to support loading and unloading operations. This position may also serve as a backup for delivery routes as operational needs require. The Shuttle Driver will be required to maintain records by retaining load-related paperwork in compliance with DOT guidelines.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES<ul><li>
Operates a tractor-trailer combination in a safe and legal manner both on Company property (approximately 85% of time) and on public roadways for off-site shuttle runs (approximately 15% of time).</li><li>
Hook and unhook various commercial combinations, to manually lower and raise landing gear, operates fifth wheel release levers, lock and release pintle-hooks, attach and release safety chains, open and close cargo doors, climb into and out of vehicles, and fuels and check oil/coolant levels of vehicles.</li><li>
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.</li><li>
Maintain driving records required to comply with State and Federal regulations.</li><li>
Determine optimal method for loading freight to minimize damage and maximize trailer capacity; secure cargo within the vehicle to avoid damage.</li><li>
Pick up and drop off trailers at customer facilities, drop yards, intermodal/rail locations, and partner carrier terminals as dispatched; obtain required paperwork (BOLs, interchange receipts) at each stop and return completed documents to the service center.</li><li>
Spot and reposition trailers within the service center yard to ensure proper dock door alignment and support timely loading/unloading operations.</li><li>
May serve as a backup driver delivery routes as operationally required; ability to sort and deliver freight to multiple stops is expected in this capacity.</li><li>
Communicate trailer status, yard positions, and any equipment defects or delays to dispatch and the Service Center Manager in a timely manner.</li><li>
Adhere to applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding safety and hazardous materials.
