 The incumbent is responsible for the management and operation of the City&rsquo;s Traffic Engineering Division. Assignments are complex in nature and are carried out within established policies, procedures, regulations and guidelines issued by the City and by the appropriate County, State and Federal agencies. Work is reviewed through observation, conferences, reports, and for results obtained. The incumbent exercises considerable independent judgement and the position requires diplomatic skills.

 Plans, directs, coordinates and supervises the activities of the Traffic Engineering Division.
 </li>

 Establishes standards, plans, schedules and procedures for expanding, operating and maintaining the City&rsquo;s Traffic operations.

 Prepares detailed reports, memoranda and correspondence; prepares traffic equipment and bid specifications; reviews and approves purchase orders for repairs, parts, products and services.

 Ensures that all required County and State documentation is provided in a timely manner.

 Supervises the development and maintenance of various records and reports pertaining to maintenance programs, schedules, and timetables; assists in establishing and administering traffic maintenance policies and standards; communicate and directs implementation of changes in policies, standards, and regulations to subordinates.

 Appraises adequacy of traffic control devices, facilities, and develops plans and priorities for modification and extensions; evaluates soundness and efficiency of operations; supervises the installation of improvements; develops work programs and budgetary estimates.

 Maintains liaison with appropriate County and State agencies regarding the City&rsquo;s Traffic Operation and Control Devices
 </li>

 Supervises and coordinates activities of Traffic Signal Technicians, Signage Services Technicians, Traffic Signal/ATMS Coordinator, and Sign Shop Supervisor; assigns specific projects and monitors activities to ensure compliance with City and State standards.
 </li>
 <li>
 Controls and allocates available resources; prioritizes projects based on greatest need and monitors budget to ensure maximum utilization of resources.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manages and participates in the development and administration of the Traffic Engineering Division annual budget; directs the forecast of funds needed for equipment, materials, supplies, special programs and projects; directs the monitoring of and approval of expenditures; directs and implements adjustments as necessary.
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of traffic maintenance and operations activities and procedures; assesses and monitors work loads, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; identifies opportunities for improvement and reviews with City Engineer; and implements improvements.
 </li>
 <li>
 Responds to and resolves difficult and sensitive citizen inquiries and complaints.
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs field reviews for active projects and upgrades.
 </li>
 <li>
 Attends meetings with FDOT, TPO, Consultants, Pre-Con, and departmental leads.
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs other assigned duties as assigned.

 High School Diploma or equivalent;
 </li>
 <li>
 Ten (10) years of related experience to include a minimum of (5) years&rsquo; experience involving Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) and Traffic Management Center Operations.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Roads Management Centre (RMC) Operational Lead to join our team in Doha, Qatar. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the Roads and Tunnels Operations activities, ensuring the safe, efficient and effective management of traffic across the Qatar road network.
The RMC Operational Lead is reporting to the Chief Operation Officer.
Key responsibilities include:<ul><li>
Defining and implementing performance improvement strategies for congestion, incident and major event traffic management to meet RMC requirements and exceed operational performance SLAs</li><li>
Oversight of the operational performance of the RMC and Tunnels Control Rooms with line management responsibility for the RMC/Tunnels Shift Supervisors</li><li>
Coordinating RMC operations with key stakeholders such as Drainage Management Centre, Ministry of Interior, Baladiya and Hamad Medical Corporation to achieve safe and efficient incident management and response</li><li>
