Lifts bed rails up and places the nurse call button near the patient after placing the patient back in bed. Utilizes proper body mechanics when lifting, pulling, or pushing patients to avoid injury or damage to the patients. Keeps patients informed and gives periodic updates, as appropriate. Within the scope of position, positively contributes to organizational goal of patient throughput. Delivers medical items to the nursing units at the request of the House Supervisor such as pumps, I.V poles, or special beds in a timely manner. Collects the wheelchairs from around the hospital and returns them to the designated areas. Acquires transport oxygen tanks from different units and transports them back to the office in the proper manner to avoid damage to the tanks or regulators.</li></ul><ul><li>
Department Responsibilities: Attends department functions to ensure that all needed information and skills are reviewed and updated. Attends department meeting monthly to suggest new ideas. Arranges to complete projects before monthly meetings.</li></ul>
