OVERVIEW
Bayfield School is looking for a full-time Transportation Coordinator to support the daily operations of student transportation services. This position ensures safe, efficient, and reliable transportation for students by coordinating routes, schedules, and driver assignments in alignment with district policies and safety standards.

QUALIFICATION<ul><li>
Possess a CDL Class B with Air Brakes, Passenger and School Bus endorsements; will train if needed.</li><li>

Must maintain discipline and safety with all students on the bus, and follow established student discipline procedures.</li><li>
Engages in ongoing professional development by staying current on federal, state, and CDE regulations.</li><li>
Oversee mechanic operations and ensure timely completion of projects.</li><li>
Have knowledge of and experience with proper procedures for emergency bus evacuations including location and use of all emergency equipment.</li><li>
Coordinate and perform evacuation drill as required by CDE and or the district.</li><li>
Properly operate a two-way radio within the Federal Communication Commission guidelines</li><li>

Conduct regular inspections of transportation vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards and address any maintenance issues promptly.</li><li>
Provide excellent customer service to residents and their families, addressing any concerns or special needs related to transportation services.</li><li>
Serve as a point of contact for residents and staff members regarding transportation inquiries and requests.</li><li>
Maintain confidentiality and respect resident privacy at all times.</li><li>
Manage transportation resources efficiently, including vehicles, fuel, and other supplies.</li><li>
Develop and monitor transportation budgets, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.</li><li>
Collaborate with facility leadership to assess transportation needs and make recommendations for improvements or enhancements.</li><li>
Perform all other duties as requested by management.</li></ul>
Requirements:

Job Qualifications:<ul><li>
1+ years of previous experience in transportation coordination or a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting.</li><li>
CNA License is Preferred, but not required.</li><li>
Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards, including those specific to healthcare facilities.</li><li>
Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.</li><li>
Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient centered approach.</li><li>
Valid drivers license with a driving record that meets company policy requirements.</li><li>
Valid Certified Nursing Assistant License is a preferred, but not required.</li></ul>
Physical Requirements:<ul><li>
Work performed in a medical setting and while operating a vehicle due to the need to transport patients to and from the facility.</li><li>
Ability to push wheelchairs and assist residents with mobility as needed.</li><li>
Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, stretch, and twist.</li><li>
Manual dexterity and coordination for operating transportation vehicles and assisting residents.</li><li>
Visual and auditory acuity to safely navigate traffic and communicate with residents and staff members.</li><li>
Stamina to stand and walk for extended periods while working with patients and transporting them.</li><li>
Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager.</li><li>
Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations.</li></ul></div>

The Transportation Coordinator is meant to be a contact person for the drivers. This position provides a variety of administrative support functions for transportation operations, while acting as a liaison with delivery drivers and a telephone service contact for the customers.
 
 
How You Will Make Contributions That Matter:</div>
<ul><li>Answer incoming phone calls and attempt to resolve transportation problems.</li>
<li>Track drivers as routing problems occur and possible haul backs.</li>
<li>Inform Transportation Supervisor of concerns and/or problems.</li>
<li>Maintain records and train drivers for proper completion of driver logs to ensure legal operating schedules.</li>
<li>Issue handcarts, locks and other equipment to drivers.</li>
<li>Schedule proper repair on equipment when necessary.</li>
<li>Provide backup for driver check-in.</li>
<li>Coordinate and assign all special runs.</li>
<li>Run various reports and review daily.</li>
<li>Other duties may be assigned.</li>
