Eagle Point School District is seeking a Transportation Manager to lead all aspects of student transportation operations. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant transportation services for all students, including those requiring specialized support. The Transportation Manager provides leadership to staff, builds effective systems, and ensures accountability across the department to maintain high standards of safety and service.</div><div>
About the Role</div><div>
In this role, you will oversee daily operations, including staff supervision, routing systems, and service delivery. You will ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district transportation regulations, including Special Education requirements. You will also lead safety initiatives, oversee training programs delivered by qualified personnel, and respond to concerns, complaints, and investigations related to transportation services. The position requires collaboration with school administrators and Special Education teams to ensure appropriate transportation supports for students. You will also manage the department budget, oversee resource allocation, ensure fleet maintenance systems are functioning effectively, and maintain communication with families, staff, and the broader community.

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the direct driver management and supervision of midsize driver count, ensuring safe and timely service movement of freight, load assignment, and providing best-in-class customer service. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and responsible for all driver compliance and company regulations while working with internal and external contacts to ensure the accurate planning, routing, monitoring, and delivery of freight and loads. The transportation manager must be able to work any shift to satisfy the demand for flexibility in scheduling to ensure operational success. This includes, but is not limited to, day, night, and weekend shifts and ensuring that coverage is accounted for.

Key Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers and safety to minimize turnover and maximize ongoing productivity
</li><li>Fill in for absent or unavailable personnel and on special projects related to optimizing fleet operations and achieving profitability
</li><li>Utilize personnel management including training and orientation of drivers and/or employees including the training and assistance with internal and third-party (customer) systems
</li><li>Conduct analysis of fleet operations and profitability and make recommendations for continuous improvement, determine and measure key performance indicators, and create, maintain, and present customer-specific reporting and financial analysis through face-to-face and/or virtual interactions at customer locations
</li><li>Manage inventory, assets, customer pools, and/or assignment of drivers to balance equipment in market
</li><li>Perform administrative duties such as payroll, driver counseling, accident reviews, filing and documenting, resolving pay issues, invoicing, and/or creating operational or financial reports
</li><li>Manage yard including checking/inspecting equipment, replacing parts (like mud flaps), completing repairs, etc., and coordinate with maintenance to ensure all regular preventative maintenance services are scheduled on time and all safety-related mechanical issues are fixed for account equipment (as required)
</li><li>Work with drivers, customers, and company personnel to resolve service issues, routing and/or planning, mechanical problems, accessorial pay-related issues, etc. as they occur throughout the day and, where necessary, when on-call
</li><li>Maintain the Company's safety culture to include daily driver safety messages, monthly driver safety briefings, quarterly driver training, annual reviews, and enforce company policies to ensure DOT compliance and company safety requirements are being met
</li><li>Assign loads and plan, route, and monitor freight movement to provide safe, on-time service and meet customer requirements, including managing exceptions on that freight and driver ETA adjustments based on pick-up and delivery schedules, and other environmental factors on the road
</li></ul>Shift Schedule:
Sunday to Wednesday from 5:00am to 5:00pm
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
<ul><li>High School Diploma/GED and 2-3 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, and/or equivalent military experience
</li>The ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed

</li><li>Experience in Microsoft Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
</li><li>Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
</li><li>Ability to consistently travel to account and customer locations
</li><li>Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities and directives
</li><li>Experience in holding people accountable and conducting difficult conversations
</li>Ability to perform in a stressful and high-pressure work environment

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field AND 1-2 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, and/or equivalent military experience

Compensation:
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company&rsquo;s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
