ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:<br>

Monitor the performance of drivers and transportation operation to identify areas for improvement.<br>

Manage transportation costs and identify opportunities to reduce expenses while maintaining service levels.<br>

Maintain accurate records and documentation related to transportation activities, including driver logs, vehicle inspection and delivery records.<br>
4.<br>
Coordinate with other departments such as retail, WTU and program to ensure smooth operation.<br>

Resolve any transportation-related issues or delays that may arise during delivery or pick-up process.<br>

Partner with HR in hiring driver positions and completion of training requirements.<br>

Oversee training and supervision of Drivers/Material Handlers and beneficiaries assigned to the transportation department. Responsible for training and supervision of beneficiaries who are assigned as truck helpers.<br>

Maintain all DOT and driver files to align with state and federal law.<br>

Ensure each truck, tractor and trailer meets TSA operational and safety standards.<br>

Supervise the donation operations to include donation attendant training, CCC locations, donation bin placement, and donor relations. Ensures a quality donation experience for donors.<br>

View SmartDrive reports each morning, giving proper coaching/disciplinary action as necessary.<br>

Plan and conduct weekly Transportation Team meetings per ARC Policies.<br>

Review and approve all direct report timecards; ensure compliance with Wage and Hours requirements.<br>

Ensure loading and unloading equipment is safe and operable to include carts, dollies, load binders, flat carts, etc.<br>

Assures safety measures established and maintained by ARC policy and government regulations.<br>

Assumes responsibility of day-to-day Operations in the absence of the Operations Manager.<br>

The Transportation Coordinator oversees all PACE participant transportation to and from the PACE Center as well as to and from all approved appointments outside of the PACE Center. Coordination of drivers, vans and any necessary support staff is supported by the Transportation Coordinator who will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to communicate any pertinent updates or planning. Additionally, this position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of UHC owned transportation passenger vehicles. Review of all owned transportation vehicles is scheduled and audited by this role. The performance of a mechanical check prior to vehicle operation is expected each day. Work involves assisting passengers as they step on and off the vehicle and also includes assisting wheelchair bound patients. Work involves considerable contact with the public and requires the exercise of tact, judgment and diplomacy. Additionally, all missed trips, transportation breakdowns and rescheduled trips are reviewed and corrected through this role. Finally, the Transportation Coordinator ensures a smooth and well- connected participant flow with the PACE center supporting all recreation therapy, dining, rehabilitation and health center visits.</div>

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES (WHEN APPLICABLE)</b></h1><p>
Supervisors may be required to drive a school bus route and/or assist with dispatching when needed. Responsibilities for school bus driving include:</p><ul><li>

DRIVING PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS</b></h1><ul><li>
Driving performance evaluations are performed continuously as part of company safety training.</li><li>
Supervisors may be subjected to customized driving evaluations at any time during employment when the company has a specific concern or has received a report of improper driving.</li></ul><h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
BODY MECHANICS OF SCHOOL BUS DRIVER</b></h1><p>
Supervisors may be required to drive a school bus. School Bus Drivers are required through their employment to perform various physical tasks. These physical tasks require varying degrees of lifting, pulling, bending, and carrying of heavy objects. Some examples of these are:</p><ul><li>
Opening and closing a bus hood and lifting the hood up to perform pre-trip requirements of the engine.</li><li>
Opening and closing of bus entrance and emergency doors.</li><li>
Bending, pushing, and pulling to load and unload a wheelchair, with or without a passenger, onto a lift platform, by exerting a maximum of 40 of push/pull pressure.</li><li>
Bending, supporting, and otherwise physically helping passengers into and out of a school bus.</li><li>
Carrying and lifting into and from the school bus, personal articles and adaptive equipment of various weights and sizes.</li><li>
Bending and stretching for the cleaning and securement of equipment in the interior of the school bus.</li><li>
Bend, stretch, pull, and drag all persons, equipment or other types of articles that would be of varying sizes and weight out of emergency exits on demand.</li></ul></div>

<p>Reporting to the Purchasing and Campus Logistics Director, the Transportation Logistics Specialist is responsible for management of transportation needs at the School. This includes management of the school fleet of vehicles, supervision of school-employed bus drivers, being the primary contact for outsourced transportation vendors; and overall travel coordination for school trips and business or professional development requiring travel. This position does not exercise independent purchasing authority or contract negotiation authority but supports procurement processes under the direction of the Purchasing and Campus Logistics Director.</p><p>Specifically, areas of responsibilities will include:</p><p>&middot; Managing school bus routes and rosters, increasing efficiency and ensuring accurate data from all transportation systems;</p><p>&middot; Managing communication with transportation service provider(s), troubleshooting issues with buses or riders daily, and ensuring appropriate quality and timeliness;</p><p>&middot; Managing outsourced vendors to augment transportation needs;</p><p>&middot; Providing excellent customer service and flexibility to address transportation needs of teachers and coaches at the school;</p><p>&middot; Ensuring the bus fleet is properly maintained and insured;</p><p>&middot; Creating processes for check-in and check-out of school-owned vehicles to authorized drivers;</p><p>&middot; Coordinating with HR and insurance for proper coverage of drivers on the school&rsquo;s policy;</p><p>&middot; Supervising bus drivers and providing guidance and coaching as necessary to appropriately represent the school while in route and at destinations.</p><p>&middot; Serving as the point of contact for logistical needs for school trips, including reviewing and procuring appropriate transportation;</p><p>&middot; Providing assistance to trip sponsors to help build budgets for proposals and reconciling trip expenses;</p><p>&middot; Managing the school&rsquo;s preferred portal for travel (currently myRIVA) and assisting employees in making arrangements for business or professional development that requires travel.</p><p>The position may perform other related duties as assigned.
