The Patient Transport Tech I transports patients with an automated external defibrillator (AED) to and from nursing units in support of direct patient care. Responds to and assists with medical emergencies and Telemetry messages from cardiac monitoring devices in order to notify clinicians or technologists appropriately. Transports cardiac patients and reacts to radiology/non-radiology treatment/procedural areas, and cardiac units. Delivers specimens, medications and medical equipment throughout the organization. Provides assistance by managing patient flow to the Emergency Department and Bed Management to prevent and relieve diversions and high census. Ensures patient safety utilizing Behavior Expectation for Error Prevention (BEEP) tools. <div>The Transporter is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of clients and staff members to and from designated locations, including transport after discharge, field trips and appointments. This position requires vehicle inspections, completion of required paperwork, and adherence to safety protocols. Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment. The populations cared for will include patients who are confused, delusional, irrational, agitated, or uncooperative. A small amount of travel may be required for meetings etc. to another PRC location.

Work Requirements (PRN Status):

PRN employees are required to remain active by working a minimum of two (2) shifts per month.
