We&rsquo;re looking for someone to join our Parks &amp; Recreation team as a Groundskeeper, helping maintain parks, sports fields, medians, rights-of-way, landscaped areas, and other public spaces. <p></p><div><div><b>Grounds &amp; Turf Maintenance (40%) </b>Mow, trim, water, seed, fertilize, top-dress, and condition turf areas in parks, sports fields, and landscaped public spaces. Plant and maintain lawns, trees, shrubs, and flowers. Prepare sports fields for games and tournaments.</div><div><b>
Custodial &amp; Public Space Upkeep (30%) </b>Perform custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash, removing debris, washing surfaces, cleaning windows, and maintaining public areas. Remove graffiti and ensure facilities remain safe and usable.</div><b>
Facility &amp; Equipment Maintenance (10%) </b>Inspect and clean restrooms, drinking fountains, ramadas, playgrounds, courts, and other facilities. Perform minor semi-skilled building repairs such as painting, plumbing, or carpentry. Maintain and repair lawn equipment and report unsafe conditions or equipment problems.<div><b>
Irrigation &amp; Specialized Equipment Operation (10%) </b>Operate, maintain, and adjust irrigation systems, pumps, sprinklers, tractors, mowers, and other specialized turf equipment. Assist with installation and repair of sprinkler lines and heads.</div><div><b>
Event, Recreation &amp; Department Support (10%) </b>Set up and take down equipment for recreation programs and special events. Substitute Grounds Worker

Hampden-Sydney College

Hampden-Sydney College is accepting applications for a part-time groundskeeper. Reporting directly to the Supervisor of Grounds, perform tasks directly related to the maintenance of the College’s grounds, trails, flowerbeds, shrubbery, and trees involving operation of motorized equipment and a variety of hand tools. Duties include mow, cut, water lawns; rake/blow leaves; dig holes for bushes; pull/chop weeds; prune; haul topsoil/mulch. Must be able to lift and carry heavy loads, work in bending/standing positions. Hazard weather duties and special event support required as directed.

<b>Qualifications:</b> Must be able to operate lawn care equipment, be at least 18 years of age, and hold a valid Virginia driver’s license. Hours are 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday – Friday, weekends as needed.

Position Overview</p><p>
