<br>USA TODAY is seeking a Summer Intern to participate in this Internship Program.
<br>This paid internship program gives college students an exciting opportunity to produce high-quality journalism alongside some of the world's most talented reporters, editors, photographers and videographers.
<br>We’re seeking candidates who are looking for a professional-level experience and have the initiative, skills and judgment to excel at it.
<br>You should have the ability to work independently and collaboratively across the teams. Critical thinking and analytical skills will be encouraged and sharpened.
<br>Interns are assigned to work for nation, opinion, entertainment, politics, audience, visuals, graphics, or consumer news teams.
<br>Our interns edit copy, pitch story ideas, report, create videos, create graphics, create photographs and write articles, scripts, photo captions and social media language. In return, interns are assigned a mentor and attend weekly training sessions during this paid 10-week internship program.
<br>This is a remote internship that can be based in all states except Alaska, Hawaii and Wyoming.
<br><b>Job Level:</b> Intern
<br><b>Hourly Rate:</b> $18.00 per hour

<b>Requirements:</b><br>
<ul>
<li>Interns must be students or demonstrate they were enrolled in a high school, college, or university at least three years prior to beginning the internship program.</li>
<li>Previous internship experience, freelance work or student newspaper experience is strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Journalism majors are welcome, but so are other areas of expertise and training.</li>
<li>A high school or college degree is not required.</li>
<li>Language skills beyond English is a plus.</li>
<li>Candidates with professional, full-time journalism experience are excluded from USA TODAY's internship programs, which are intended to provide opportunities for emerging journalists.</li>
<li>Command of AP writing, spelling, grammar, and style.</li>
<li>Solid fact checking and reporting skills.</li>
<li>Well-organized, detail-oriented and flexible.</li>
<li>Open to new ideas, new experiences and learning on the job.</li>
<li>Critical thinking and analytical skills.</li>
<li>Technical skills (will vary depending on the assignment).</li>
<li>Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.</li>

Program Purpose</b></div><div>
Under the direction and guidance of USL Executives and Leaders (mentors), the USL Work Experience Program (UWEP) provides students with the unique opportunity to gain practical sport management experience in a professional sports league setting. By working on various strategic projects and initiatives, UWEP participants will gain hands on experience with league staff as well as member teams.</div><div>

Participants are tasked with and responsible for partnering within a specialized department but will interact with all league departments across the organization including business development, digital, club services, analytics, and more; with the ultimate goal of providing students with well-rounded practical work experience in sports.</div><div>

Position Purpose</b></div><div>
Under the direction of the League Two team, the League Two Video Analyst UWEP supports the department by viewing all video on the league&rsquo;s official video hosting platform to ensure league standards are met for broadcast quality and statistical recording.</div><div>

Duties and Responsibilities</b></div><div>
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:<br>

Assist in reviewing and analyzing league management and competition issues (i.e., player discipline) via the video platform.</li><li>
Assist with ensuring all teams comply with uploading their game footage and streaming standards to the video hosting platform.</li><li>
Ensuring the statics recorded in the video (goals, assists, etc.) are recorded properly.</li><li>
Assist with compiling team data for the upcoming season.</li><li>
Assist with selection of the weekly player award.</li><li>
Assist other departments and operational areas as requested to provide a well-rounded overview of working in sports.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Qualifications</b></div><ul><li>
Participants must be working towards a bachelor&rsquo;s or master&rsquo;s degree in a related field and/or training and must certify that they are able to receive college course credit from an accredited college or university for their participation.</li><li>

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.</li><li>
