Your role</h2><ul><li>

Candidates should demonstrate competency in above mentioned softwares, clear communications skills to gain understanding of the required tasks, quick and a methodical decision-making approach for the design &amp; related tasks.</li><li>

The individual will be required to travel at times to the different Atkins office and sites globally and interface with the team based there.</li><li>

About you</h2><ul><li>
A Master's Degree in Urban Design from universities of National and International repute is a must.</li><li>
3-5 years of Professional Working experience in Master planning Projects, in a reputed firm. Middle East experience will be an added advantage</li><li>
Bachelor Degree holders in Urban Design or Architecture will be considered, if they can showcase relevant experience in Urban Design Project Stages. Including Design, Documentation and site implementation.</li><li>
Chartered candidates shall have an added advantage.</li></ul>
Technical Competency
<ul><li>Must have good experience delivering Urban Design/Public Realm &amp; Master Planning projects in the public or the private realm.</li><li>
Working knowledge of standard regulations and best practice principles, with strong problem-solving skills.</li><li>
International experience of the UK, the ME or the APAC regions will be considered an added advantage.</li><li>
Must be conversant of the evolving standards of the profession primarily with respective to collaborative and multi-disciplinary design.</li><li>
Must be proficient in AutoCAD, GIS(QGIS or ArcGIS), Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator, MS Office, Advanced Excel, Sketch up and Google Pro.</li><li>
Candidate should have good working experience in Rhino and Grasshopper. Working knowledge in Generative Ai softwares and further prototyping competencies will be considered an added advantage. Job Description 
The Urban Designer supports the Gwinnett County Department of Planning and Development in preparing visual collateral that advances strategic initiatives of Gwinnett County, which may include long-range planning, zoning, economic development, housing, and placemaking initiatives. The Urban Designer integrates data analysis, policy interpretation, and visual communication best practices to support planning studies, internal coordination, public engagement, and decision making. 
 
Essential Duties<ul><li>
Support and manage community planning efforts related to long-range planning, zoning, economic development, housing, and placemaking initiatives</li><li>
Prepare conceptual site plans, development scenarios, streetscape concepts, land use diagrams, and illustrative graphics that support policy development implementation of the Unified Plan, Small Area Plans and other County initiatives</li><li>

The Opportunity
Fourth Economy is seeking a Design Consultant to lead visual design and technical communication across economic development projects, with some involvement in sports and major events work.
This role sits at the intersection of analysis, strategy, and storytelling. You will work comfortably with data and complex content, producing clear, client-ready materials that support decision-making. You will be embedded in project teams alongside analysts, economists, planners, and project managers, shaping how insights are communicated from early drafts through final delivery.
Approximately 75-80 percent of your time will be dedicated to client work, primarily economic development projects, with a portion allocated to sports and major events initiatives. The remaining time will support marketing, business development, and firm-wide design needs. Location &amp; Travel
This role is primarily remote but is intended for candidates only based in or near: Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Buffalo, NY; Cleveland, OH; Philadelphia, PA; Pittsburgh, PA; Providence, RI; Richmond, VA; Rochester, NY; and Syracuse, NY.
At this time, we are not considering candidates from other locations. The role may require travel up to 2-3 times per month for client meetings and project work.

Interview process
We use a structured, stage-based hiring process. Not all applicants will advance to each round.
Stage 1: Initial Interview (30 minutes, Zoom): A conversation with the hiring and reporting manager focused on your background, interest in the role, and alignment with the position.
Stage 2: Team Interview &amp; Portfolio Review (60 minutes, Zoom): Selected candidates will meet with members of the team to discuss experience in more depth and walk through relevant portfolio examples.
Stage 3: Design Exercise (Short Assignment &amp; Blind Review): A small group of finalists will complete a brief design exercise. Submissions will be reviewed anonymously by members of the team before a discussion conversation.
Stage 4: Final Conversation (30 minutes, Zoom or in person): One to two finalists will meet with leadership to discuss role expectations, team fit, and compensation.</div>

Job Description 
Job responsibilities<ul><li>Responsible for initiating and developing engineering drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project&rsquo;s discipline engineers.</li><li>Under minimal supervision, may develop complex engineering drawings.</li><li>Applies a solid level of understanding within a specific discipline.</li><li>Understands codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.</li><li>Fully understands the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards, and procedures.</li><li>Basic understanding of engineer&rsquo;s process of performing and verifying design calculations to support the overall project design.</li><li>Fully understands the purpose and use of vendor documents and reviews discipline supplier documents for accuracy. Can also review other discipline&rsquo;s supplier documents.</li><li>Fully understands the use of requisitions and the role of materials management, and can review/advise on purchase orders and subcontracts.</li><li>Collects data on manpower, man-hour, and labor costs requirements for design staff to aid in evaluating the budget.</li><li>Intermediate knowledge of cost estimating methods and performs material take-offs for the discipline.</li><li>Intermediate knowledge of discipline&rsquo;s materials costs and concept of cost analysis and forecasting.</li><li>Basic knowledge of the project change control process and can identify a potential change.</li><li>Fully understands the discipline&rsquo;s equipment and material lists.</li><li>May provide technical guidance to less experienced design staff.</li></ul>
