About the role, and What you'll do<ul><li>
Perform patient care by taking vitals, patient history and triaging</li><li>
Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage, lacerations and wound care</li><li>
Administer medications via intradermal, intramuscular and subcutaneous routes, complete ear lavages and run EKGs</li><li>
Conduct POC lab testing such as urinalysis, urine pregnancy test, blood glucose testing, monospot, rapid strep and influenza testing, and rapid hiv testing</li><li>
Manage the front desk and perform receptionist duties (patient registration, insurance verification, and etc)</li><li>
Complete training and become certified with the Department of Transportation to perform Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests</li></ul>

Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant will be caring for patients in the following capacity:

<li>Assists provider with exams (including patient vitals), procedures and other processes related to direct patient care under direct supervision of the Provider and within the scope of practice of a Medical Assistant.

</li><li>Notifies the provider on duty promptly of all unusual patient occurrences including medication events on an incident report.
</li><li>Promptly notifies the Clinic Manager of patient or employee safety concerns.
</li><li>Follows guidelines and requirements of laboratory and clinical accreditation policies.
</li><li>Must be proficient in EMR/EHR</li>
<li>Performs other related duties as assigned or described by Company policy.</li>

As a Medical Assistant, you may also be asked to support Front Office Reception. When working in the front office you will perform such duties as: keeping patients and families informed of wait times, monitor the flow of patients, process patients for discharge including preparing charges, collecting payment, obtaining all necessary signatures and issuing receipts.
