Your Role
As a Commercial Car Buyer, you'll be responsible for sourcing and purchasing vehicles for our retail operations. You&rsquo;ll work closely with store teams and auctions to ensure quality, cost-effective vehicle acquisitions while maintaining compliance with all regulations.
What You'll Do as a Commercial Car Buyer<ul><li>
Buy whole cars for assigned stores based on retail value and transport costs</li><li>
Partner with Store Managers and Assistant Managers on pricing and sourcing strategies</li><li>
Advise stores and update them on car market trends</li><li>
Collaborate with Marketing on local car-buy campaigns</li><li>
Manage relationships with auctions, tow companies, and other suppliers</li><li>
Seek new car sourcing opportunities with charities and partners</li><li>
Track and meet monthly vehicle purchase projections</li><li>
Ensure licensing and compliance for stores and vendors</li><li>
Stay compliant with federal, state, and local laws regarding vehicle purchases</li><li>
Follow company SOPs and contribute to a culture of safety and stewardship</li></ul>
What You Bring as a Commercial Car Buyer<ul><li>
Experience purchasing vehicles from auctions, dealers, or tow yards</li><li>
Strong organizational and administrative skills</li><li>
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team</li><li>
Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and mobile tech tools</li><li>
Willing to travel within assigned and nearby markets</li><li>

Used Car Buyer Purpose:
The Used Car Buyer will have a primary responsibility of executing a process which involves prospecting, appraising, and presenting offers to current vehicle owners with the goal of purchasing their vehicles from multiple sources for resale.
Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Interfaces with current used vehicle owners from multiple resources with the purpose of purchasing their vehicle.</li><li>
Approaches, greets and interfaces with dealership customers to appraise and offer to purchase their current vehicles.</li><li>
Utilize Sonic Automotive automated inventory management system.</li><li>
Understand market trends and changes to trends in geographic market.</li><li>
Provide guidance and support to dealership Sales Associates as it relates to purchasing used vehicles.</li><li>
Appraise used vehicles.</li><li>
Attend Trade walks daily.</li><li>
Exhibits high level of commitment to guest satisfaction.</li><li>
Knows and understands the federal, state and local laws which govern retail automotive sales.</li><li>
Established personal income goals that are consistent with dealership standards of productivity and devises a strategy to meet those goals.</li><li>
Attends product and sales training courses as requested by General Manager or Sales Managers.</li><li>
Keeps abreast of new products, features, accessories, etc. and their benefits to guests.</li><li>

The position also may also pay a production bonus based on individual or team performance that may range from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) without any fixed upper limit)
