The Autonomous Vehicle Technician diagnoses and performs maintenance and repairs on vehicles operated by the Autonomous Vehicle Driver. This specialist will have a unique opportunity to provide high quality service on autonomous vehicles, while working with teammates in a positive atmosphere and growth environment.<h1 class="jobSectionHeader">
Responsibilities:</h1><ul><li>
Performing maintenance, diagnosis, and required repairs on electric vehicles.</li><li>
Inspecting and performing initial vehicle set up for autonomous fleet operation and testing.</li><li>
Collaborating with and working alongside AutoNation and Waymo associates, and partnering with teammates to improve processes and expedite workflow.</li><li>
Document requested repairs and findings in a specialized service platform.</li><li>
Performing high quality repairs and inspections efficiently and accurately.</li><li>
Conducting multi-point inspections and system checks, making appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of fleet vehicles.</li><li>
Provide guidance to technician team, and effectively communicate with Associates regarding required service and parts needs.</li><li>
Performing all repairs according to work instructions and documenting results.</li><li>
Operating all equipment in the Service Center in a safe and productive manner, following AutoNation&rsquo;s Safety Standards for the use of personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection) while working on the production floor.</li><li>
Inspecting and testing all work performed as a Quality Control (QC) measure as soon as jobs are completed.</li><li>
Maintaining an inventory of Technician&rsquo;s tools not normally inventoried by the Service Department.</li><li>
Keeping abreast of technical information and participating in offered training classes as appropriate.</li><li>
Understanding and following federal, state, and local regulations that affect Service Center operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA guidelines, etc.</li><li>
Gaining superior product knowledge to provide high quality repairs.</li></ul><h1 class="jobSectionHeader">
Qualifications:</h1><ul><li>
High School Diploma or equivalent.</li><li>
Three + years&rsquo; automotive experience</li><li>
Electric Vehicle experience, a plus</li><li>

 As an&nbsp;
 
 Automotive Technician / Mechanic&nbsp;
 
 you have the responsibility of understanding and completing routine repairs necessary for the repair of customer vehicles. You will perform general repairs and diagnosis with some assistance. These repairs include but are not limited to light engine work, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, electrical systems (starters and alternators), HVAC systems, steering &amp; suspension systems.
 
 
 
 Qualifications &amp; Requirements:

 3+ years of previous automotive technician experience required
 
 </li>
 <li>
 
 Certified in factory training is a plus!
 
 </li>
 <li>
 
 ASE and A/C certifications are a plus!
 
 </li>
 <li>
 CSI and Quality scores above regional average**
 </li>
 <li>
 Must have basic tools
 </li>
 <li>
 Must be proficient in all vehicle maintenance services
 </li>
 <li>
 Production averaging over 100%
 </li>
 <li>
 Must be a team player and have the ability to work repetitively on complex tasks

 Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age

 Must have a valid driver&rsquo;s license and safe driving record

 In this role, you will:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Document all work performed and recommended on assigned repair order
 </li>
 <li>
 Make accurate use of the multi-point inspection form on each vehicle
 </li>
 <li>
 Communicate with service advisor when additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain technician proficiency as specified by DARCARS standards
 </li>
 <li>
 Conduct road test to determine work needed and to confirm work was successfully completed when necessary and practical
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform all levels of diagnosis and repair on vehicles
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform all levels of preventive/routine maintenance services
 </li>
 <li>
 Utilize product and technical training as assigned by the manufacturer and management
 </li>
 <li>
 Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and schools to continuously expand your knowledge of new technology
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain manufacturer (CSI) Customer Satisfaction Index at or above the DARCARS specified goal(s) in service for district, regional and national scores
 </li>
 <li>
 Complete the work, notations and time-keeping necessary to the successful completion of warranty repair orders and the filing of warranty claims
 </li>
 <li>
 Report to management any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers or employees
 </li>
 <li>
 Take care to ensure that customer&rsquo;s vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced
 </li>
 <li>
 Understand and complete required training for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc
 </li>
 <li>
 Comply with all federal, state and local laws, as well as company policy, regarding safeguarding all customer vehicles, property and information
 </li>
 <li>
 Other duties maybe assigned by management
 </li>
